I am so happy for Tyrone Crawford

He is making a name for himself. The switch from DE to DT seems to have helped as well.

I don't know why people here are only complimenting his play at DT. He was playing just as well at DE. The fact he can line up inside or outside and perform is a testament to his ability. He's a good one.

I agree about letting Melton walk. Let Crawford keep doing his thing and draft someone high to rotate in there with him.

Stats I am looking at have Crawford with 0 sacks and 3 hurries in 7 games.

I like what I've seen from Crawford at this point, however, I am a LONG WAY from saying at this point to let Melton walk because Tyrone can take his place as a pass rusher.

What is really amazing is just 5 years ago I was watching Crawford play for Bakersfield JC versus our local JC in a high school stadium with just a few hundred fans.

You are right about zero sacks, but before yesterday's game he had 15 hurries and it looked like he added at least a couple more yesterday.

The sacks come for interior linemen when the outside pressure forces QB's to move up into the pocket. Hopefully Lawrence and/or Spencer -as he gets healthier - can provide it.

Pretty sure he was one poo pooing the idea that he could be a factor and discrediting the guys who talked him up....like Romo and Hatcher.

And honestly...he pretty much had NOTHING good to say about anyone on defense...including the DC

Interesting on the hurries being 15. I had referenced Sporting Charts which I've seen some other folks here on CZ referencing lately which has him down for 3. 15 sounds better to me!

Does the NFL track hurries in some publicly facing stats page?

Forget about stats and hurries and stuff like that and just watch the games for yourself. You'd be way more knowledgeable a fan with the all 22; I can vouch for that.

Watch the 4th down conversion the Giants had on the TD to Beckam JR and see all you need to know about Crawford right there. Just watch what he does to the guard. That's an example of how he's been playing and that doesn't even take into account all the run stuffing he's been doing. We have found our 3 technique, end of story!

Causing problems at DT.

Just needs some stats to back it up now

As soon as he gets an edge rusher his stats will prove, right now the qb can run out side the pcket; with an edge rushe they'll have to step up so him pushing the middle means they'll step upright into him. I sure hope Lawrence is the guy.

I don't think it's even close...Crawford is easily our best D-Lineman. He needs to finish some plays, but if he was able to convert those sacks we would be talking about him as an All-Pro player right now.

YR

All Pro? I like him too but let's not go crazy YR. :D Crawford is still learning the position and is improving, but he's not quite an elite DT yet.
