I don't think it's debatable or controversial to note that they played very well for a team venturing into hostile territory missing two starting wideouts. That's what a fair-minded person would conclude.
eagles receivers are a dime a dozen besides T.O and maybe this jackson kid

I try not to let these stupid things people say get on my nerves too much. But everywhere i look they are praising the Eagles and giving these back handed compliments to the cowboys. Look at the front page of ESPN. The eagles beat themselves, the cowboys defense isnt good enough to win it all, the Giants are the team to beat, ect ect....

I had this stupid argument with a friend who is an eagles fan today. It seems like everything he reads is making him feel like his points have some merit. They all want us to feel badly because we won a close game. We are supposed to feel like our defense isnt good enough due to 1 game that was played in week 2. I think we can make a reasonable argument that 14 of the points were not the fault of our defense anyway.

So i decided to take a look at the Giants team stats from last year. Since i am so sick of everyone saying how they are better than us because of their defense. Here is how many points they gave up each week last year:

45
35
17
3
24
10
15
10
31
10
41
16
13
22
21
38

Now i can see some games where this defense i am so sick of hearing about gave up some pretty big numbers. How are they so superior to us?
What do these talking head idiots have that they can point to from last season that gives them the right to worship the Eagles for coming close?
They are calling the Eagles a force again.... Well if our dominance is now in question do to giving up 24 legit points or even 31 points. Then how are they suddenly a power or force when we hung 41 on them?

I think it's great, let everyone dog the hell out of us, I hate the fact everyone already has us pegged as Super Bowl champs. All the negativity is the best of both worlds, imo. We don't get puffed up and cocky from the praise, it gives us bulletin board material and the coaches can use the articles to play the disrespect card with the players even though we just racked up another "w".

Keep on dogging the Boys, the only story I want to read is the one about how the Cowboys just won their 6th Super Bowl.

Fair minded yes, but giving the Iggles a BJ?

After listening to Colon Cowturd this morning I thought the Cowboys beat the greatest team of all time last night!

For the record, all the media pundits were predicting a *tight* game prior to kickoff b/w these 2 teams.

I don't get it...they go from *predicting* a tight game, their predictions ended up being *correct*, and now all of a sudden they're ready to give the Eagles the Lombardi Trophy b/c they won a moral victory against a team that supposedly is the Super Bowl favorites?

Really-let the mediots hype the Eagles or whoever. As long as they keep us out of the spotlight, the less distractions, the BETTER. I'd rather play under the radar anyways.

What? Take into account the Eagles, on the road, minus two starting WR, went blow for blow with us? The SB Champs aren't the team to beat?
You speak fork tongue Tonto.:D

FYI-the only reason why Reggie Brown is still starting is b/c they gave him a big contract 2 years ago, and to boot, they can't cut him b/c the Eagles will get a big cap hit for doing so(Roy Williams? Sound familiar?).

I agree losing Kevin Curtis is big for them, but remember our starting #1 corner is still hobbling on an injury too.

It doesn't really bother me at all. At the end of the day, the Cowboys won while the Eagles merely "tried hard".

Don't let them get into your head.

All that counts is the Win. I don't care what happend IF all i care about is reality.

Do the Giants care that everybody thinks they are no legit superbowl winner ? I don't think so. They put on their rings and feel good about themselfs.

Those people who say we are not that good or we should have lost or the Eagles are the better team they are only envious. Maybe a little angry too because they saw how close they came to beat us. But they couldn't. Now to say we are bad and this or that team is better is just because they couldn't hurt us on the field and now they are trying it off the field.

But who cares what happens off the field. That's just talking. It's like Bill Parcells once said "you are what you are". The Eagles lost the game and we are the winners. That's how it is and nothing will change that.

That's the way i like it. Just imagine it would be the other way ? Would you be satisfied with your role those Eagles fans have now (talking us bad) ? Man those people must feel very very sad inside that they can't leave this game behind them. And then if we are not that good of a team we all believe why didn't they beat us ? Maybe they aren't that good either ? They must feel very very bad accepting this thought.

When two good teams play against each other there will always be mistakes. Just because everybody has to play at his highest level. None can do that without making mistakes. We had ours and they had theirs. At the end we beat them. End of story.

No no, this way i like it much much more!

But if you need some arguments look at the scoring board. We scored about 10 points every quater. That means we were very balanced thoughout the game. Very independent from their game planning. The Eagles scored 24 points on us in the second quater then we changed our D.scheme and they did nothing in the second half.

We could adjust they couldn't. Adjustment is only possible with players who are so talented that they are able to adjust to a new scheme. I think the Eagles tried to adjust too but they couldn't. So what does that tell you about their players ? So if you are willing to put some oil in the fire i think this will make your day ;-)

Trust me. You want them and everyone to doubt/underestimate us ALL year. All the way until we win SB.

The NFL is composed of 32 teams. I don't have a problem with a sports network reporting on as many teams in a sports league such as the NFL as possible. The problem that I do have is when a network such as ESPN focuses primarily on one team out of many.

I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan, but I'm a fan of only one NFL team. It doesn't make any sense at all for me to turn on ESPN to see and heard only Cowboys topics. Let the Eagles have their spotlight. Shoot, be upset that with all the resources at ESPN's disposal, they don't report on all the teams daily.

They remain true to their entertainment value over real sporting news mandate to help attract advertisers and ad revenue. There's really nothing wrong with that. It's free enterprise at its best, but at least be honest and upfront about it with your paying cable subscribers.

First off you shouldn't really care about the mediots...

Secondly most mediots are assuming that the Cowboys brought their "A" game...Judging by the penalties and the mistakes made all over the place by the Cowboys I can safely say that was not the Cowboys "A" game... Now with most mediots saying how well Philly looked I must assume that they brought their "A" game and it wasn't good enough to beat the Cowboys what "B", "C", "D" game.

Thirdly the Refs were horribly blind or bias in not calling the blatant holding on some of the Philly Olinemen and I am not even going to mention the WR holds...

Just simply turn espn off.

Its hard. I have trained myself to do it though. And if I can, anyone can.

Good advise that I would recommend to everyone...turn off ESPN

True...but the audience isn't as large

No but then who cares what people who are not fans think of the Cowboys. I will admit it has gotten to the point where I think it is a joke for many of our fans to complain about other teams fans given some of the comments around here. Maybe some of the comments by folks like John McClain and other writers are true and I just didn't see it that way until coming here and the more I see here the more it appears they are right. We have some very arrogant and spoiled fans that can’t see past their own team. For whatever reason I always believed we had classy fans that believe has taken a big hit over the last few years
