I am thinking Peterman is on the bubble

BP did not sound happy with him- especially his comment about only being able to play LG. It is clear that BP wants O linemen to be able to play more then one position.

You have a point IMO. I took the decision to dress Proctor ahead of Peterman when Rivera was out for the Carolina game as a black mark on Peterman.

Roster flexibility is a bigger deal with teams than ever before. Ideally you'd like to dress 7, max 8 guys on the OL so as to maximize what you can do with your DB's and ST's guys. To do that you need guys that can play more than one slot. I think we will add a guard on the first day of the draft and if we do it will be a guy with both guard and tackle experience. If Peterman cannot beat out Kozier for the starting LG job he's going to be in trouble dressing for the games again. We probably will find room for him on the roster but even that is not a lock.

You hate to see a guy get set back by injuries and never get a chance to play, especially an early draft pick. But BP is not a social worker. Peterman is going to have to step up.

Parcells also has said that Peterman is a tough guy, that he thinks he has a player behind Allen, and that Peterman reminds him of Bob Kratch. Getting compared to a good player from the old Giants glory days is always a good sign for a guy... Maybe the best sign. ;)

About the worst thing I've heard Parcells say about Peterman is that "he has to be technically precise"... Because he isn't a great athlete. But we've seen from Gurode and Tucker that being a good athlete doesn't mean a thing if you fall asleep and/or don't know who to hit at the snap. And Peterman isn't some scrub project like a Ben Noll, but a highly-regarded prospect who was a team captain for a Nick Saban National Championship team and was known for making very few mental mistakes in the SEC.

Just saying, don't write him off quite yet.

That's very interesting. Did Rob tell you that?

I suppose now that he's had a full year to practice at LG, Parcells wants Peterman to expand his horizons a little bit and practice at some other positions along the line.

I think there's a good chance Peterman starts at LG this year. At LSU he was a beast run blocking and he's just plain mean. Just the kind of guy Parcells loves.

If BP wanted players who can play more than one position, then maybe we should have done more homework.

First we take Jacob Rogers who can't play with the other hand on the ground.

Then we take Peterman who is just as bad.

What gives???

Peterman and Tucker are both goners IMO...probably replaced by draft picks

Pettiti will get another yr but will be a backup unless someone gets hurt

I bet Gurode beats out Johnson at C

Nice.

As some of us have been saying, he isn't limited in terms of where he can play but rather he is limited in where the staff wanted to play him in his first full year.

I think Peterman is being written off way too fast. The guy was a big time player at a big time school. He's impressed in preseason and training camp. He's also been stick behind Larry Allen. Now he finally has an opportunity...

In fact, I remember another good player that came from LSU who was stuck behind other good veterans. Fans were calling him a bust about a year ago. Bradie James isn't being called a bust right now though, is he?
