I believe that Tucker could do good in the Shoes of flo

I think we will all be surprised. If Bill is still saying that he is doing good then I have to believe he is right, considering he has no problem saying when someone screws the pooch.

I doubt that Parcells would publicly admit he was scared of using Tucker, especially before a game with Seattle who is looking to beat the Cowboys bad because of last year.

My feelings on Tucker was that he was pretty good in pass protection last year and poor in run blocking. In fact, I thought he was almost very good in pass protection for the year, but he struggled after he was dominated by Charles Grant.

If Vollers was still around and was replacing Flozell, I would feel confident that Vollers could be serviceable. He'd still be a dropoff from Flozell and I wouldn't be able to gauge how much that dropoff would hurt the team, but I don't think it would be tragic.

All of that being said, there's no doubt in my mind that Tucker has more athletic ability than Vollers, it's just the mental errors and penalties that drive me and everybody nuts.

So could he step in and do a good job? Sure, but it's more likely that he'll be a dropoff that hurts the offense in the end.

I hope Tucker plays really well. From the sounds of it, he's a good guy that works hard and football is important to him. If he plays really well that would help Dallas tremendously (they'll have to look for a future LT some time down the road as well).

Let's also remember that anyone who lined up at RT struggled last year, and part of the reason was the guard playing beside him.

Pettitti has definitely had a better situation this year with Rivera beside him...can you imagine getting advice or line calls or reminders from Gurode last season?

Tucker will perform better on the left side than the right simply because he has a veteran beside him who doesn't make a ton of his own mental mistakes. LA will give him reminders and advice, and if need be, a "Cortez-like punch to the face"...haha.

Tucker is a big question mark right now, but I think he'll make fewer mistakes and get more help on the left side than he ever did on the right side.

Maybe, knowing that he has a young and fairly inexperienced guy next to him instead of Adams, LA will pick up his own game.

Rob Petitti has really benefitted from having Rivera and Dan Campbell.

Infact in 2003 Torrin Tucker flourished because he had Dan Campbell. The entire running game was exposed when Dan went down.

Rob is a 6th RD pick. He's already earned and started 6 games as a rookie (including game 1). That is an anomaly in the NFL.

It will be interesting to watch how Tucker performs.

I think just based on experience and talent he could have played just as well or even better that Rob Petitti has with extra benefit of having Rivera and Campbell back.

He's got another chance. Best case scenario. He plays well enough to make Flozell Adam nervous. Going into camp next year maybe Flozell having to compete for his spot might bring out the savage we've been waitng for for 7 seasons.

If Flozell had an ounce of Michael Irvins fire and played with similar passion..........he'd be considered one of the best.

He has to at least hold his own or our o-line and offense are in deep trouble.

My biggest concerns with Tucker are penalties and speed rushers. I think he can hold his own against guys who are mainly bull rushers, but I see him struggling against guys with speed who have that burst off the line. His knack for penalties could be his biggest obstacle though.

That is differnt from flo how ?

Flo has been the most penalized Olinemen the last two years on this team and Flo gets abused at times by speed rushers

Well, we might see a little change in that philosophy since Drew will have a little less time in the pocket now.

There are ways to counter the onslaught of blitzes that you know will be coming now that Flo is out, and what is the best way to counter that?

A heavy dose of screen passes for starters, maybe even throw in a shuttle pass,,, bottom line is that there are ways to counter this set back.

Teams line up and do it every sunday, with inferior lines that have to use these strategies to overcome their shortcomings.

We have been spoiled the first six weeks of this season with an OL that was pass blocking better than I have seen for several years.

This team is on a mission this year, and loosing the Hotel was huge, but this team can overcome this loss.

Time for Tucker to get his game face on!!!!!!

uh sorry, but Lett looked like a major player pretty much from the start...by the end of his rookie yr it was obvious he had bigtime skill, and his 2nd yr he was already a regular contributor and a big time pas rusher in the DL rotation

Tucker has the PHYSICAL tools- its the other side that is the problem.
One thing- we might see more of the draw now that we have to protect both tackles. (about time). And I really wish some would remember that Pettiti was considered first or second rd talent but fell due to his weight-and questions about his discipline and work ethic due to his weight gain. So while he is a 6th rd pick, he has a lot more talent then those that are picked in the 6th rd due to lack thereof.

I dont like Tucker, never have and never will.....The only reason I cheer for him is because he has a star on his helmet.




I'm just sick and tired of his stupid mistakes and drive ending penalties. The guy has no swagger and sometimes struggles to even KNOW what to do.

I'm not happy with Tucker, but as a FAN I wish him the best of luck.
