I Believe We Found Our Receiver

Who has him as a 3rd?
Draft buzz ranked him 271 45th position!
Zeirlein ranked him an UDFA 45th position!
6’2 receivers who can’t beat press coverage, do a poor job tracking the ball, and are slow to excellerate on turns and after the catch aren’t usually ranked 3rd.
I doubt there’s anything here that even makes Brooks sweat!
If this is the competition, Mingo might even make the team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He should have left it up. It was well said.
Agreed. Obviously, the incident had a partial but direct impact on how potential teams evaluated drafting him. Showing some measure of permanent public remorse for his actions could have made a difference of his name being called anywhere during the draft.

Boundary Receivers

WR1 CeeDee Lamb

WR2 Jonathan Mingo

WR3 Jalen Tolbert

WR5 Ryan Flournoy

WR7 Jalen Brooks

WR9 Kelvin Harmon

WR10 Seth Williams

WR12 Traeshon Holden

Slot Receivers

WR4 Kavontae Turpin

WR6 Parris Campbell

WR8 Jalen Moreno

WR11 Josh Kelly

I like both WR signings, Holden and Kelly.
However they had many WR's like this before. And many fan favorites. Most spent several years on the PS.
Never made an impact.
But this will be interesting competition. Can one sneak onto the roster, because a rookie contract will be cheaper than paying the 6th WR with a contract coming up.

WR competition for 5 and 6 will be interesting. They been know to keep 7 before. That comes down to how many TE, OL, DL, DB they keep.

Mr. Holden's October 13, 2024 apology:

To my Oregon family, I am truly sorry for letting you down. You have shown me the importance of teamwork, discipline and respect, and my actions in that moment did not reflect those core principles. I recognize that this has negatively affected our team's reputation and I deeply regret putting us in that situation.
To Ohio State, I offer my sincerest apologies for my behavior. It was completely unacceptable and a momentary lapse in judgment. I want to emphasize that this incident does not reflect who I am as a person or the value I am to uphold.
Moving forward, I am committed to making meaningful changes, not only in managing my emotions during competition but in setting a better example for my teammates and the broader community. I am determined to demonstrate growth and maturity, both on and off the field and I hope I can earn back the trust of those I've let down. This incident has been a valuable lesson, and I am dedicated to becoming a better person, teammate and a positive role model in our community.

I did notice the apology's tweet (link) can no longer be found. Wonder how soon it was taken down in relation to the draft? The incident is something that is not easily forgotten. Perhaps keeping it up may have better helped his drafting opportunity as a reminder of his true character.

Not that I condone what he did,but damn, football has changed.. playing football in the late 70s and early 80s,this happened almost every game, I've done it and opponents have done it to me, no one complained I just made sure they suffered the rest of the game..that's just the way it was.

I truly think he's better than Mingo. Like I was saying, he has some dog in him.

That said, the Josh Kelly kid is pretty bad arse too. Great finds by the scouting department and front office.
I prefer to reserve judgement until I see them actually play. Too many Tarzans who play like Jane.

Heck Tunsil only dropped to the middle of the first and he had a darth vader helmet on smoking a bong.
Wasn’t that La’el Collins and he actually pulled himself out of the draft because of it. Maybe Tunsil did it too (not pull himself from the draft); my memory ain’t my strongest suit according to my wife.
