If he's so good, why are teams so glad when he leaves?

He's cancer.
I think earlier in his career he was immature. He has grown and players advocate he is positive in the locker room.

The Giants have lost their entire receiving corps.
I was never a big OBJ fan, mostly because I’m old and don’t get the on field antics. Proposing to a kicking net (for example) on the sidelines is just stupid if you ask me. But I have not heard 1 team or teammate call him a cancer. So if you know something otherwise since you are declaring that he is, please provide some back up to your allegations. And for what it’s worth, I wanted no parts of this team signing Terrell Owens, because he was a proven locker room cancer. But I just don’t see that with OBJ and consider this old timer on board with a reasonable 3 year contract to make a run at this SB thing.

The same way we embraced Amari Cooper, I can see the defensive guys all running over to him after a score or great play to celebrate him. I think it's time to make that move Friday!

Meeting the training staff we have and how Jerry loves to give them credit, he will be on the field in days! Just look at Damone Clark!
Have not been a big OBJ fan, but I hope it happens...

Coop should still be here but anyway, go get Odell since the team wants him so badly

Back-to-back ACL tears to the same knee.

Won't be ready to play for weeks.

Shadow of his former self.

Why are we considering this?
I am not sure why so many are convinced after those two major injuries that he is just going to be his former self this year or ever again. I sure hope Jerry doesn't give him a long term deal for big $

My concern is does Dak start forcing passes to OBJ and will Kellen Moore call more passing plays to justify signing OBJ?

If this team is to make a deep run, it's going to be because:
1. We rely heavily on the running game and
2. We sure-up the run defense.

If either works, we won't need OBJ. And with Pollard being integrated into the passing game, there simply won't be enough balls to go around.

Cancer with a superbowl ring. I get OBJ had some issues with the Giants that showed a ton of immaturity, but that has been a few years now. Over time the issues with Cleveland have largely showed to vindicate OBJ in that situation. Last year he seemed to be nothing but a model teammate in LA. He came in to take on a role down the depth chart, and after injuries happened he ended up being a focal point of that offense.

I think you have to give OBJ a chance here. I'm way more concerned about his ability to perform at this point than any locker room issues.
