I know we Cowboys fans like to think next year is different and so forth. That said. I can't quite put my hoof on it, but something just feels different. Ever since the Quinnen Williams trade, it seems that Jerry has been more......focused?

Have you noticed that we haven't really had a lot of..... controversies this offseason? Even the Pickens stuff got sorted before it became a massive issue. We haven't really had any bad things or massive media headlines happen. Ironically, Philadelphia has been the d word (not trying to jinx it lol) capital of the division this year.

It feels to me like, maybe this is the closest I can get to what feels different, maybe the way that Parsons showed him up on the training table, the way the trade got panned, and how poor our defence was last year seems to have gotten something sparked in Jerry that I haven't seen in a while. You ever notice how sometimes a situation will happen where Jerry gets petty and tries to prove something? If that's what's going on, I hope he continues with it.

Either way, something feels more positive than normal. Something just feels, different to me.

I think someone in that room, or a myriad of people convinced Jerry he had to change. It could have even been Schotty. I was totally against dismissing the top pass rusher in football outside of Myles. But only because I didn’t think they would keep their promise of building a real D. Had we not used those picks to get QW this thing doesn’t look as impressive.

But it does feel different. We’ve seen no fluff outside of a few fights amongst teams. Boys will be boys. Let’s just go into this season cautiously optimistic.

Honestly, I actually don't mind the fighting. It's good to see the Cowboys aren't going to take nonsense from other teams, and it's good to see that they want to be physical.

I agree, the Quinnen deal clearly changed things. It's almost seeming like Jerry has finally (or accidentally) found what made the 90s Cowboys good.

What changed things was Parsons wanting way more per year than Jerry thought he was going to have to pay, so he traded him for essentially a pair of DTs and tried to sell that as the plan along.

Then he did something completely out of character for him. He cut bait on a superstar player that he himself had drafted. Jerry's personal wins from a GM perspective are few and far between and trading a superstar that he could take credit for as a GM is something Jerry just doesn't do.

The GB loss was as embarrassing as it gets. It also initiated arguably the worst media and fan frenzy of criticism that Jerry has endured, and that is saying something.

Jerry had to humble himself to get rid of Parsons, Lawrence, Diggs. He drafted them, he paid them. A guy like Jerry doesn't admit mistakes easily. Making those moves got my attention.

Easily the best offseason post-Johnson era.

Don't read this as if I'm throwing bouquets at Jerry. He's got a ways to go before that happens.

I saw it too. I've been trying to tell my football buds the exact same thing. Jerry was different after the GB playoff debacle. And we lost that much worse than the score indicates. We got slaughtered.
