I was thinking Zeke was an 8-9m per year running back. Watching Pollard today I’m starting to think he’s more 4-5m. Its basically Ingram and Kamara

Explosive plays win games. Why was Zeke so good in 2016? Explosive plays...

Pollard can explode.. Zeke leaves potential big plays on the field with nearly every touch.
Explosive plays combined with consistent 4 and 5 yard plays. Zeke had 100 yard haves in 2016 without 50 yarders.

Don't forget, Zeke frequently takes himself out of games.

I have to listen to that from my brother all the time. It may be that he’s taking himself out of the game , or it may be that he’s waving someone in as part of the offensive design or at the behest of the coaching staff for reasons unknown to us, or a mixture of all of the above. My brother seems to think it brings Zeke’s toughness into question. Do you?

There’s no question he’s been toting the rock less over the past 2.5 seasons. Is that part of a grander plan? Looks like it. I think that if they asked him to carry the ball 20-25x/game, he would, and if he did, he’d be putting up very solid numbers. I think we’ve seen a lot less of ‘the Zeke effect’ on opposing defenses later in the games. I wouldn’t want to tackle either Tony or Zeke, but I’d like to tackle Zeke MUCH less than Tony. Since Zeke isn’t punishing defenses the entire game, they’re still hitting him hard in the later stages of games, something we didn’t see as much of his first three seasons.

I want to see Tony succeed. I don’t know if he can ever carry the load full time the way Zeke did during his rookie deal. As long as we keep winning, I’m not going to lose much sleep over it either way.

Nope, I know what I see. He waves to the sidelines, next play Zeke is on the sidelines. Nothing wrong with saying you need a blow or you hurting from the previous play. I actually hate when a RB rips off 2 good runs followed by a 3rd run for no gain.

I see the same thing. I’m saying that there’s no way we know what that means. You could be 100% right. He could be saying, ‘I need a blow’. It could also be a part of the dual back attack, that he gets to make the call some of the time and that he feels obligated to do so. Until he tells me himself, I won’t say I know exactly why he waves out.

That's on km.....he can't manage substitution s properly.

I think it's been better this year.

Can we all agree that Pollard is just better than Zeke now? I'm not saying bench him but Pollard should get the bulk of the carries. And Davis wasn't bad either today.

This being said. Is Zeke back next season?
Me too, Pollard was scary good today! One thing I noticed today was the fact that the Bears didn't force Pollard to pickup any QB blitzes. Thanks Bears!

I concede that Zeke is still the best RB on this team, Pollard did great today he did just like Rush did when he stood in for Dak, but please don’t get it twisted he’s not special and can’t do it on a regular basis.
There’s a reason why Pollard was never the starter in college and the guys that kept him on special teams and receiver in college, on doesn’t start and the other is not in the league.
Another tidbit out of all the years Pollard has played football the most carries he’s had is 17.
He’s a spot player, very explosive a home run hitter but he’s not a every down RB. He will get his chance next year on another team that will pay him the kind of money he wants and then find out that they wasted their money

Pretty much…I don’t understand why our fans don’t get it?

Put the emotions aside…Zeke is an average NFL RB at this point making elite player money. He has to go.

It’s comical. Zeke will break off an occasional 15-yarder and folks start losing their minds like “Ohhhh, I thought he was done!?!? In your face haterzzzz!!” like there aren’t 50 other RBs in the league that can do what he does with the ball in his hands.

Pollard is not only better than Zeke, he is our best playmaker on offense.

And a top-five back in the league. That's been the case for a long time but some here just slow to see it.

Amen!!!!!!

He is done!! I saw Tony do things yesterday Zeke would have issues doing. Some of the plays tony made Zeke would have gotten tackled easily after the first few yards! To be a bigger back Zeke goes down to easy

So you are saying that Zeke is calling for Pollard to take the field for a dual rb set from the sidelines right after he's tackled? My mistake, I will have to watch for that next game.

Yes and its been that way for 2 seasons. Pollard is the quicker, more elusive back. Whatever Zeke had those first 3-4 seasons is gone. He is just a power, short yardage back now.

My worry about Pollard is can he handle the load over the course of a season? You can never know until it happens. You look at some of the flashy backs like Barkley, they clearly cannot handle a full load. But I agree that one should look hard at making Pollard #1. Problem of course is he is a FA soon. Not sure we want to use the Franchise Tag on him.
Last year when Zeke was hurt was when the Boys should have rested him and give Pollard the load for several games and see how he stood up.
