I don't believe Dak will just come in and light it up

Despite a solid job by Cooper Rush managing this team while Dak was gone, I don't believe Dak will just come in and light it up. Dak hasn’t had a chance to get into a groove with this offense like Rush has.

We have to show patience for a game or two (as long as we're winning) while Dak gets into a rhythm with this offense. This is not giving Dak any excuses or any passes, but I don't expect to see a solid outing by Dak until the first game after the bye because I still don't believe that hand is fully healed.

Do I believe Dak can play well enough to contribute to winning these next two games before the bye??? Absolutely. But do I think he's going to come in lighting it up?? Absolutely not. Again, let's not kid ourselves with expectations of some heroic performance by Dak after a long layoff recovering from the hand injury.

Oh yeah.... don't think for a minute that opposing defenses aren't going to take the opportunity to swipe at Dak's hand to see how well it holds up, so Rush need to stay ready!!

I think it's great timing that he will play 2 games before the bye. Both teams are winnable games without solid QB play. So these games he can be rusty and we still will probably win because of defense and running game. I don't expect Dak to light it up till after the bye TBH. He needs game action to get into the flow and the Lions and Bears are perfect teams to shake off the rust.

Thanks for lowering our expectations and giving Dak excuses before he even touches the ball.

Here's another "I hyped Dak up a lot while he was out, but now I'm nervous that he'll look like he did in Week 1" thread.

There's no need to get worried now that the rubber is meeting the road.

What will be will be.
Love how the narrative has gone from "we'd be blowing teams out with Dak" while winning with Rush, to "he's gonna need a few weeks to knock the rust off."

Exactly, lets calm our expectations. Dak can still get the job done and to me he has better skillset than coop.

I think the only expectation is to secure the W. That hasn't changed. No excuses. I think what some some you want is not only the W, but to get the W with style points from the qb exclusively. That's not conducive to team ball but let some of you guys tell it, It's the only way to go. I didn't care about style points with Rush and I surely don't with Dak. Securing the W is the only goal and that's easier to get by playing no frills, basic football, not hero ball.

You knew it was coming.

They don't really believe in them. They just can't bring themselves to come out and say it.

It's easy to tell us what he will do while he's injured and not playing. The problem for them is at some point he must come back and live up to the mythical character they create when he's injured.

Right you are govnor, right you are.
Ga'head and state Dak has a greater skill set than Rush.
Feel better?
Nothing offers more confidence that a fan saying career JAG Dak is better than a career bench warmer.
But at least, lad, you are not mentioning Dak in the same sentence with actual great QBs such as Allen, Mahomes, Lamar, Herbert, and even Rogers, Burrow and Hurts.
Tha always sucks, so I give you credit and I offer you my protection.

No. We've all been hearing for the past few weeks how Dak was going to make this offense a juggernaut. Dak even said he's going to take it to another level. Time to shut up and play. Let's see if he can back it up.
We averaged 21 PPG with Rush.

If we don't average at least 30 with Dak then what's he good for besides running his mouth and talking about things his play can't back up?

But, kind knight, put yourself in the Dak groupies place.

The man called Dak has won no championships in college or the NFL. In 7 years he has led our team to ONE playoff win and THREE losses.
He frustrates WRs and takes good ones and molds them into JAGs. He makes a ton of money to get hurt annually, plays half ash and then has a list of excuses from the O line to unproven receivers to an inconsistent ground game.
Dak can fall flat on his face in the playoffs and his groupies will trot put their excuses. We expect tha, chaps.
