I don't believe Dak will just come in and light it up

I definitely agree with you!!! Dak need to get back to the level he's shown he's capable of and surpass that this year.

Speaking of contracts....

Other than maybe Brady and Mahomes, name me the other quarterbacks who are truly "justifying their contracts"???

Josh Allen

A few with rookie contracts, but that's not really fair :)

There will be some rust to knock off, but the level of play from the QB position will quickly improve over the next couple of weeks.

We saw what 900k can do, let’s see what 40million can do.

Pretty much every starting quarterback in the NFL makes 3 times what Rush makes....

Yet Rush has a better record this year than most of them.... care to explain why we didn't "see what they do"???

Dallas is a more complete team, especially with Defense / Special Teams. Cooper didnt need to press the issue, simply make the throws that are there and do not turn the ball over. He did this wonderfully until last week.

There's 32 starting quarterbacks.... im sure a quarter of them have max contracts or making millions annually.... me and you collectively came up with only 3 out of over half the league who are actually earning their salaries.....

Make that make sense.

And the only thing thats unfair is one quarterback in the NFL being questioned about what he's paid, when there's other quarterbacks in the league who's on his level or lower that has max contracts too. But we sweep that under the rug.

You see how that could seem a little hypocritical??

Low IQ people will point fingers if Dak doesn't put up 500 yards with 6TD passes in his first game back from injury, win or lose.
I just want him to back up what all the Stanley's have been yammering about for the past few weeks. How we'd be blowing teams out if Dak was QB. I actually don't care if he throws a TD as long as we win. I didn't set that expectation, all the little Stanley's did.

I deleted the rest of your passive aggressive personal insult tirade because it was trash.

Anyways, Go Cowboys!

Tell the media to stop asking him questions and then you won't hear him say anything.

Do you think Dak just go up to journalists and say, "hey cut your mic on, I got something to say"?

What do you expect him to do when he's asked questions after a game he didn't play in and he's wearing street clothes and a journalist ask him a question??? Ignore him?? Then you all would be the first to say Dak is an *** for blowing off reporters. He's damned if he don't and he's damned if he do.....

He's asked questions after practice and after games lately that he hasn't played in..... what exactly do you want him to SHOW YOU at those specific times of answering questions??
You do what everyone else does when not playing and defer the questions to the men that went to war. You praise the backup for how they managed the game and where we can improve. You choose your words wisely as to not elevate you expectations so you don’t fall on your face. There are ways to defer or manage a question better than has been done. Now I expect and deserve him to back up that mouth with a new level as he stated he would do;).

It wasnt personal insults, it was truthful facts.

But if you want to hold Dak accountable for whoever these Stanleys are then thats your right. But its odd holding a man accountable for the words and actions of others that Dak doesn't even know and most likely have never met lol.

But hey.... if you like it, i love it my friend!!

Never get fans who are hypercritical of a player answering a question the media asked. They are literally contractually obligated to do so.

Let's not pretend like Dak hasn't raised expectations with his bold words while he's been out. Now it's time to get out there and show it. He's facing the leagues worst defense. Great game to get an idea of where he's at no? Basically a tune up game...

The thing about is, Dak did sing the praises of Rush on and off of the media microphones.

He was high fiving, helmet slapping, etc to Rush during the games when Rush was balling out. I think that angered alot of Dak haters because they wanted him to be the opposite.

But back to your original point.... media asked Dak legit and respectful questions.... and Dak gave respectful responses. The same respectful responses that every other quarterback gives when questioned by the media.

But i guess ONLY Dak shouldn't give the same type of interviews that other quarterbacks routinely give or routinely answer questions..... got it.

And what quarterback coming off of a month long injury wouldn't need a tune-up game or two to get back into a rhythm????

I think many of you who don't like Dak for whatever reason were angry that the coaching staff didn't throw a rusty Dak in there against a hot and great Philly team because you wanted him to look bad just to fit your little agendas. This is another example of rooting against your own players.

It makes most of you angry knowing that Detroit and Chicago ahead of a bye week may allow Dak the easier reps to get back into playing shape and rebuild a rhythm with the offense. Nobody in their right mind would gloat over Dak having "get right" games against the Lions and Bears. REAL fans would want our coaching staff to put Dak in the best position to get back to being a top 10 caliber quarterback for the success of THE ENTIRE DALLAS COWBOYS TEAM.

Haters would rather have seen Dak get rushed into a game against a DIVISION RIVAL who's on fire and who would likely try to swat at Dak's hand to affect him moving forward so they wouldn't have to worry about facing him again and it could affect the outcome of the overall divisional positioning come playoff time.

Who do you think the Eagles would rather face, Dak or Rush...... exactly.

When a boxer with a championship belt gets injured and then comes back to fight....9 times out of 10, he's not fighting against another champion boxer. He's fighting against a fighter or two with lesser risk to get his rhythm back. Why is that???

When injured NBA players start getting back into games after weeks of recovery.... they're not thrusting themselves into mid-season games vs the Warriors or Celtics..... they'll play in the games vs teams like the Wizards or the Raptors..... why is that???

If the Cowboys run the ball and play defense like they did in the first four Cooper Rush starts Dak won't need to light it up. He will just have to get this offense to be marginally more efficient than it was with Rush, because the Eagles game proved that what Dallas did from weeks 2-5 was not sustainable.

Whether you are a Dak fan, Dak hater, or in between I think it's safe to assume there's going to be some rust.

I don’t want Dak lighting it up. His arm leads to failure. We just need a better version of Cooper Rush.

Unfortunately we are only as good as our run game and defense.

Hence the term TEAM.

The rationale that a quarterback needs to win a Super Bowl to "deserve" top money means Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and Matthew Stafford should be the only high paid guys and there should be 28 other passers getting the NFL minimum. They haven't earned anything. ;)

Listen, I'm not saying Dak is elite, I am a fan and I think he's upper middle tier, maybe in the 7-12 range. But if the Cowboys didn't give him that contract some other team would have. It's the price of an NFL starting quarterback in this era. Once you find one, you keep him.

Is Dak the guy that can lead the Cowboys to a title? We'll see. Look at the list of QB's that have gotten there in the past and you'll see Dak is just as good and in many cases much better than many. Football is a team game. It's going to take the team to get there. Unless Dak is going out and playing like Cooper Rush, Oct. 16, 2022 every week it's hard to say it's just him.

Despite a solid job by Cooper Rush managing this team while Dak was gone, I don't believe Dak will just come in and light it up. Dak hasn’t had a chance to get into a groove with this offense like Rush has.

We have to show patience for a game or two (as long as we're winning) while Dak gets into a rhythm with this offense. This is not giving Dak any excuses or any passes, but I don't expect to see a solid outing by Dak until the first game after the bye because I still don't believe that hand is fully healed.

Do I believe Dak can play well enough to contribute to winning these next two games before the bye??? Absolutely. But do I think he's going to come in lighting it up?? Absolutely not. Again, let's not kid ourselves with expectations of some heroic performance by Dak after a long layoff recovering from the hand injury.

Oh yeah.... don't think for a minute that opposing defenses aren't going to take the opportunity to swipe at Dak's hand to see how well it holds up, so Rush need to stay ready!!

He will light it up if he needs to. Hopefully he wont need to.
