I don't see this game against Arizona being as dominant as the other two games

I swear we are going to get threads like this every single week. Telling us how it is a trap game and the other team will be sneaky good. Heard it all week for the Giants and Jets games. If a team is locked in, there won't be any trap games. Especially since we will be in a fight with Philly and SF to get one of the top seeds. And against Philly to even win our division.

Dallas will be focused each and every week. We have vets that aren't going to allow us to have a sloppy week of preparation. Doesn't mean we will win every week but I don't see us losing because we weren't prepared.

I'm not saying it's a trap game, but I think it's a game that maybe isn't as exciting to be in as the other two. The first game was the home opener against a rival, the second was the first home game against a great defense. We've struggled with teams like this in the past. Everyone sees what we did the first two weeks and thinks the same will happen.

I say let's just see how the game plays out, then we can say whatever we want. HATS OFF to the cowboys for their play so far, just continue to have the same fire and enthusiasm for every game. Please give your thoughts...
My thoughts are Arizona has a 1/500 chance @ winning this game.

This won't be close unless Dak implodes completely and the Defense plays with 9 on the field for 60 mins.

Our average score has been 35-5, so I agree that it is likely not to be as dominate.

They're a pro team too so it probably won't be as easy as we'd like but the Cowboys should win with the momentum they have. Any given Sunday or whatever but I do think this team doesn't seem to want to play down to its' competition like in previous years. You could pretty much count on that happening. Not seeing that with the 2023 team.
YOUR FIRST LINE SAYS IT ALL, THANK YOU!!!

Not as dominant? Against the worst team in the league?
They did have a 21 point lead on the Giants before the wheels came off. Washington beat them by 7 and so did the Giants. It’s not like they’re being blown out. They may not be as bad as some think. We better not suffer a letdown.

It has the potential to be a classic trap game.

It's VERY easy to overlook the team that struggled versus a so-so WAS team and a NYG team DAL blasted 2 weeks ago.

I think it's a game where Dobbs will be able to exploit the DL's aggressiveness. the LB *MUST* maintain gap discipline and can't be chasing.

ARI Defense has 9 sacks in 2 games (DAL has 10).

So they can pressure. Dak will have to be careful and the RBs will have to step up their pass protection game.

You should have stopped the headline after the first 3 words.

Arizona is a much worse team then the Jets or the Giants. We should dominate. No reason to think we won't.

Mixed feelings about this one. Yes, I have every reason to believe this will be a Cowboys blowout. But Arizona has a history of playing us tough and have won the last 3 out of 4 games, I believe? While the Cards are 0-2, I don't see them as a bottom 5 team. I won't write them off just yet.

I feel I'm going out on a limb in saying I disagree in a big way. But I shouldn't. It's just that I'm just like anyone else who has been used to the routine for so many years.

I'm persuaded this team is different.

Just two games, yes. But this team as a group is carrying itself differently. The words I'm hearing not all that different. But the way the words are being said, ie with convincing conviction, is just that, convincing. They are hungry, hungry, hungry. They aren't competing with the other team so much as they're competing with their own previous performance. It's tough to keep it up for half a season, let alone a full 17 game season, let alone an entire post season. But this early, it's hard to persuade me that the foot isn't going to be just as down on the pedal as ever.

Now, Dobbs has played decent against us fairly recently. And I don't think the Cardinals are as bad as they were originally thought as the season began. I'll say that.

But yeah... I'm going with this being at least as dominant as NYJ, and possibly as dominant as NYG, and even there is a decent chance even more dominant than NYG.

It’s not possible to be that dominate each week, even against a weak opponent

I think Dallas is like 2-7(2-3 in State Farm stadium) of the last nine in Arizona. They don’t seem to play well there for some reason often enough. Dallas will win this game but it might not be an expected lopsided win. I am not going to lay the points and skip betting on it altogether.

I don't want to see people get mad if we don't score 30+ against them or give up more than 20 points
This D is not gonna give up 20 against Phoenix. They're just not. Cards don't have that kinda weapons.

I look for the offense to be plain jane and the D to be its characteristic attacking self. 24-10 doesn't seem unrealistic but a 50-3 blowout wouldn't surprise me (well ... the 50 would). Big Mac is gonna play this offense close to the vest ... there's no need putting more film out there.

Cmon, you mean you are predicting we dont win by 40 or 20 points? Man, you are really going out on a limb with that prediction.

Yup. It'll be even more dominant.

BTW, is there any reasoning behind this silly proclamation?

Ari is rebuilding and has a talent depleted roster. They are very bad. Drake Maye lottery bad. They were 4-13 last year, and lost a bunch of talent. Who's playing QB for them, anyway?

Threads like this are the result of the Cowboys conditioning fans in the past. Remember when we'd play down to lesser talent and sometimes got our butts whipped? I can't blame their reaction but if we go in and play down to Arizona, I'm meeting the team on the tarmac and kicking butts all the way out to their vehicles.

It's going to be a slaughter, and next week with the crafty Belichick is the trap game. Three games is enough for him to figure us out, if there is a solution. Remember 2021 when we came out strong, Patriots played us pretty close, and then the other teams saw it, and started copying.

Week One: "NYG has an elite run attack w/ Dimes & Barkley, this won't be a walk in the park."
Result: A 53 man roster of men holding hands and walking through the park, skipping.

Week 2: "The Jets, even without Rodgers is elite defensively. Dak this, Dak that - we won't get away with an easy win."
Result: Same 53 man roster, skipping.

Week 3: A team worse than the two we already housed is no joke."
"The Cardinals are scary good! Josh Dobbs, James Connor, and Hollywood Brown are a three headed monster unlike anything seen since the Cowboys triplets of the 90s."

- Members of this site that are desperate to see the Cowboys lose a game so they can feel vindicated for their horrendous preseason takes on this team.

Acknowledging that any NFL opponent is good enough to beat you is one thing, but people being legitimately afraid of the Cardinals and screaming trap game after the start Dallas has had is just crazy.
