I don't think I've ever seen Roy like this

Roy should be a shoo-in for the pro-bowl...

JJo on offense is quietly putting his numbers together... nice running by him...

Total freakin' crime if Mat McBriar doesn't get his name called for the trip to Hawaii...

Is it just me or was Roy was killing people today. He had 4 huge hits i saw in the first half. I know he makes big hits but i wonder why he had so much bite in him today.

Just a little thing that stood out

I am not sold on Roy yet. He was a beast his first couple of seasons, and then got soft after the chick from Destiny's Child got in his head.

Witten is going through the same softness right now...

Why is Williams on kickoff? Its stupid to put your best defensive player on special team to risk injury unless he is returning punts. He did have a fumble recovery though.

Roy isn't even close to being our best defensive player. IMO, I can name 7 or 8 other players ahead of him on our defense.

IMO, you'd be wrong 5 or 6 times.

I might would say 6 or 7 times. Roy does things that many people don't notice. As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, that hit on Carr stopped any thinking on Carr's part about scrambling. Instead he stayed in the pocket and started thowing the int's in the 2nd half.I also didn't see a lot of passes in the middle, wonder why? The only one I can mainly remember, is the pick by Ellis. It goes beyond the plays he makes, he influences what the offense does. So, basically, he is the TO of the defense. The other team always knows where is is.

Well said. All good points.

No doubt ...... some people just cannot let go of thier agendas.

What agenda? Do you have any proof that I have an agenda against Roy?

I've never bashed Roy before, but I do not believe that he is our best player on defense.

The play where he leveled Carr could have easily been flagged for a 15 yard penalty.

RW has lived off of his rep for the past couple of seasons, but I will admit that he is on pace for his best season since 2003.

RW is a play maker. No other player on that "D" has that yet. Ware is the closest, and if Newman can ever start picking passes off, he could be one, but for now, RW is the star of that defense.

From what I read somewhere, he wanted to slow down there relationship and put off getting married. She had already taken photo opps for magazines in wedding gowns and got really upset (& embarased) with him wanting to slow down their relationship and called it off. Not sure if that's true, but what I read anyway.

He is what he is. One of the best at run support and inconsistent in coverage. I say inconsistent because at times he is really top notch in coverage.

Problem is, he is usually blamed for mistakes in coverage when it is isn't even his assignment that scores, like last week when he was blamed for two of
Watkins' mistakes or last year when he was blamed for Aaron Glenn mistakes.

thats exactly right..

and I dont agree at all with the thread title-- Roy has been playing like this ever since he entered the league.. he IS our best player and he is just a playmaker, period..

as for today, he had one that will definitely make it on Jacked Up.. he had a bunch of big hits, nice tackles, a great pursuit/pass break up on Carr, a nice play where he stripped the ball out on a reciever to make it an incompletion, and a fumble recovery.. great game by Roy..

by the way, you should all check out the Ravens' message board.. they are all complaining about Ed Reed and how badly he is playing this season.. apparently, he is getting burned a lot and hasnt made any big plays.. Ravens fans are wondering if he has "lost it." and we all know how often Sean Taylor gets burned and how many boneheaded plays he makes.. and until today, Troy Polamalu had been having a very below average year-- missing tackles left and right and getting burned quite often.. of course, nobody ever talks about these things nationally..

Roy is the best safety in the league.. Id say that Dawkins is second.. Reed hasnt done anything in the last two years.. Polamalu and Taylor are both good but very overrated..

thats the way the coach plays, due to if you have lesser skilled players that equals a chance for a td return so put your starters who are very good (at times) in to prevent a td

Good point, for an example, cue up the Commanders game. If that would have been a closer game, it would have been really demoralizing. Roy got moved over into Singleton's spot after that kickoff. Haven't seen much trouble since.
