I expect a signing or player trade soon just for the fact that Jerry Jones can't handle negativity surrounding the Cowboys.

And I think there's a strong stench of negativity around the Cowboys today with the releases of Roy Williams and Terrell Owens.

I expect a move fairly quickly in an attempt to turn around public perception.

I'd really like a key trade or free agent signing too, but simply signing Ware to a long term deal might just cover that positive public perception angle you are talking about. There's also the draft, which usually gets fans excited. Plus, you've got the new stadium coming on line....

Spencer did not play "fine" he barely played decent in his p.t. and half the time he did play he got hurt

Sure he did.

Is Spencer as good as Julius Peppers? No.

Is he as good as Demarcus Ware? No.

Is he more than capable of holding down that starting role? Absolutely. Spencer was given very limited opportunities and not in favorable circumstances. He made some plays.

The problem is that so many of you want bookend Wares. And you don't get to have that.

If they give the starting job to Spencer so that he gets the reps and he know his role and can play in the flow of the game instead of situation-specifics, he can play it better than Ellis did last year, and that is good enough.

I agree.

And Ellis only started because "Mr Nice Guy" didn't have the guts to tell him to sit down.

Spencer was playing well with the opportunities he did get.

I'd send Ellis packing and get a mid-level veteran LB like Roosevelt Colvin, Antwaan Peek, or Jason Babin for depth.

I'm with Hos. Bring in Peppers to mask the stench of this off season.

And has there been any confirmation by anyone other than ESPN of the TO release?

if i put him next to Ware or Peppers id say he looks like a high schooler.

Hes NOT capable of starting because hes shown he can't stay healthy.

Look at Anthony Henry he showed us he couldn't stay healthy so we got rid of him.

sorry for not wanting to setting with "good enough"

With what money ?

We just burried nearly 12 mills so now we are 2 mills under the cap.

And i don't think this really created negativity. It's more like a wakeup call for the team. Reminds me a bit of the way Jimmy Johnson treated the players. I think it's the right way.

Dude, come out from under the rock. Visit Adam's stickied cap update thread.

This is really tiresome.

Whats wrong ? OK i made a mistake. We saved 2mills on roy but we lost about 9.5 for TO. SO we still are +7 mills in the cap. You were that fast with your answer that i wasn't even able to edit my first post. Must be really tyring for you

And we still want to sign DWare.

So weres the problem ?

You really think we are going to sign players ?

$9 million did not get added to the cap.

Removing Owen's salary and charging the remaining signing bonus cost the team less than $1 million so it's essentially a wash financially.

But of course you just sent a top receiver packing....

Still under the rock, I see. Please come out and join us above ground.

Let's try this again. 1) Click on the below link. 2) Look at post # 89. 3) Take a moment to comprehend it. 4) Read through the thread for explanation. 5) Repeat if necessary. 6) Stop posting nonsense.

OK. I just read it by myself. I forgot that his total salary for this year already counted against our cap - sorry.

You are right. The way it is (with still having 14 mills of cap space) i also could see us signing another 1-2 players.

I love you too.

Hope you will never have to experience the feeling to say something wrong just to find someone perfect who calls you stupid for that.

And i know i know you never called me stupid. YOU were just trying to help. Thanks god for people like you.

In short: What are you trying to archive with your worthless posts other then making someone else feel bad ? Why don't you keep your bad thoughts to yourself and post when you have something enriching to say ?

That was pretty crotchety of me to take this all out on you. It's just that this has been explained so many times in so many places on this board yet people are still needlessly screwing it up on a regular basis.

And we would rely on Spencer?

Ellis is not gone till we replace him.
Spencer didn't prove anything yet and we don't have anybody else.

Neither did Roy, Crayton, Miles AUstin and Sam Hurd... I have no idea what Jerry Jones is doing, but he must have something up his sleeve, otherwise it is patently dumb.
