I feel terrible for Elliott. If he's truly innocent as he's maintained all along then this is absolutely the most wrong thing possible in this situation.

With that said this is why I've always said these guys have to be so very careful where they go, who they're around, and what they're doing.

It's why I laugh every time someone says "oh when we were 23". None of us were 23 with fame and celebrity and money. These guys are always going to be targets. Like it or not when you choose to play sports you gotta be willing to realize you're not gonna get the normal life others get.

If he truly didn't do it and is being labeled a woman beater. He needs to sue the heck out of the league. Don't bother with the girl, she has nothing to go after and would probably lie through her teeth anyway.

Sue the league for what? They applied their personal conduct policy and suspended him based on it.

It sucks, especially for Zeke. But legally they're on solid ground (as is becoming apparent with each decision).

I honestly think he's innocent too. I wouldn't defend him if I didn't think that. It sucks. I think he was used as a scapegoat. I think his off field activities precipitated this. I think some owners told Goodell to go get him and Goodell did no matter what the evidence showed. The NFL is a joke.

This sucks man. I mean poor guy. The NFL cannot let it go. It just pisses me off. He hasn't done anything else and they keep messing with him. I honestly think they're pursuing this even more because he's a damn star in this league and he plays for Dallas. If he was a backup or some no name they'd probably give him 1 or 2 games and that's it. It's BS. It really is.

I don't feel all that bad for him. He's getting screwed by a PR machine, don't get me wrong, but he's also been playing with fire since long before he got with the Cowboys.

And if TT is a despicable person (it sounds like she very likely is), it still says something about him that he was as close to her as he was for as long as he was.

So, while he obviously doesn't deserve the big hit he got here, it's not like he also couldn't have easily avoided it by just being a better dude to begin with.

when you don't feel badly for someone who has been rail roaded then that really says something about you doesn't it?

Sure. It says I don't feel as sorry for people who get screwed as a result of putting themselves in a stupid position to begin with as I do people who do everything right and get screwed anyway.

What does it say about you that you don't differentiate that way?

Ehh, taking 6 games off now may end up adding an extra year or two to his career so it's pretty good for him in the long-term. Of course, this is assuming he doesn't mess up again and gets that permanent suspension

Innocent or not, if you are the accused in a DV case, a low profile is always the best course of action.

I'm not sure about that. If you don't proclaim your innocence everyone thinks you did it.

He probably shouldn't have said anything and sued her for slander and pushed the case really hard. She wouldn't have the money to defend it most likely and he could apply some serious pressure on her instead of letting her lob hand grenades and watching them explode around him with impunity.

This isn’t true if you are completely innocent.
The way Michael Irvin handled the recent accusation is how innocent people should act when falsely accused. You go public and claim your innocence, and you do it clearly and often.
