I have been a cowboys fan since birth it seems. Now the last several years, bangwagon fans have not been much of a problem.. but now.. they are everywhere.

I live in Houston,, been here for almost 1 year now, and I have worn the same Cowboy gear, all year..whether I am out at dinner, or just shopping or whatever, I usually have on at least one of my hats.

In the last 2-3 weeks,, everywhere I go, people are stopping wanting to talk about the Cowboys,, and saying "go cowboys" or something. For the last year, I couldn't find a Cowboy's fan if I looked,, now they are everywhere.

I just really don't like "fans" that only like a team when they win. I was actually stopped by a guy at a local retail store,, and he was telling me how much of a fan he was, blah blah blah,, then asked how i thought DAT was doing this year!!!! I just walked away.

I just hate the bang wagon fans.. forgive my rant!

I am used to band wagon fans, ever since the mavs started being so good everyone and their brother has jumped on that thing. It helped to temper me to all the newly aquired boys fans out there.

What I hate is all the Commander garb that came out of the woodwork when Gibbs came back.:banghead:

If Romo continues to play well, the bandwagon may need new shocks and struts.

I admit I don't care for bandwagon fans, I tend to respect fans who remain loyal to their team through good and bad time. Face it bandwagon fans are not fans they are front runners and change teams on a regular basis.

Chances are they were not looking at you weird based on what you were wearing. :laugh2:

Two points to make:

1. You obviously weren't looking very hard, because Cowboy fans are everywhere, and have been even during the leanest of times. I don't recall this board being any less active during the Testeverde/Bledsoe horror years. You're obviously seeing what you want to see.

2. Wearing 'Cowboy gear' at dinner isn't exactly something to be boasting about.

Nice! I hate the Texans simply because they have "america's team envy" so bad and its obvious. They know that there's only room for one team in Texas regardless of how big the state is. They name themselves the "Texans" so as to try to appeal to people who live in the state and pry fans away from the Cowboys and then choose red, white, and blue as their colors....
pathetic. Its a toilet franchise that dilutes the league talent, wastes top 5 draft picks every year, and at a minimum...should be move to LA. The LA Texans...sounds good. :lmao:

Anyway, I remember I was working at a retail store back when the Packers won the NFC championship game for the first time...and two guys came in and bought 5x GayBay T-shirts and 3x Gaybay hats. I was ringing them up and had to pop off....saying "so jumping on the bandwagon eh?" One of them got very offended and says "I've been a Greenbay fan all of my life" to which I replied "so that's why you don't have any t-shirts or hats until now?" Not happy customers.

I hate the bandwagoners too, feels like they haven't "earned" what we have for enduring and suffering and lamenting through the PA (Post-Aikman) years, the 5-11 seasons, etc.
But I have to say that I do understand people wanting to watch us this year, and not just because we are winning. Our team is, once again FINALLY, FUN to watch again. Tony Romo is a pure joy to watch, he really is. Even if he played for another team not named the 69ers, foreskins, iggles, of gints, I'd enjoy watching him play. MBIII is fun to watch because not very many people run with the kind of passion that he runs with. TO, even though I'm not a fan, is entertaining. Ware is a marvel. And of course Roy is always entertaining because you know he's going to hit someone so hard you cringe at home.
