I hate the dork, but Eli looked pretty sharp...

I'm glad they whipped up on the Browns on national TV, and that we're 0-2. It's all totally meaningless, but maybe it will stop all this "Cowboys are the clear favorites in the NFC" talk. It would be a good thing for us if some of these other teams got more of the spotlight, and we got less.

I saw Brandon Jacobs get into no less than three shoving matches during the first half. That turd is going to be a problem for them before it's all over.

Eli ... what's with the redish-colored armpit hair on his face?

Oh, and I see that the gap-toothed freak found his way to the sideline cameras even though he's not playing anymore.

I really dislike the Giants.

:lmao2:

On his best throws, he had:
1. No pressure on him, and time for his reciever to beat the CB down the field.
2. His recievers, esp. that guy Dixon made some nice catches.

and also

3. Loads of penalty yards against the Browns.

Yeah, I think our team needs to stop acting like they are the team to beat in the NFC (even if they are!) and recognize the Gnats are not going to relenquish that crown w/o a fight. The Skins are looking better than many expected and the E-Girls came on down the stretch last year. This is not going to be a cake walk folks!

Absolutely no doubt.
All three of our NFC East opponents look good....and they beat us at least once last season. It should be a wild ride this year and hopefully the Cowboys win the East and more.

Eli has a nice throwing motion on the deep intermediate passes. I dont like Him But he does have talent.

Perception becomes reality. The Browns were really bad. Eli's two TD throws were to wide open blown coverages. And the second one he almost threw it out of the endzone. Notice the safety lying on his back? How bout those Browns?

He was most likely going to be good eventually.

Typical fan wants to evaluate a QB and write his entire career in the guys first 2 or 3 seasons.

The QB position takes time because its the toughest position to play but people still cant get that figured out.

Eli has shown signs of being a really solid football player.

He has had to learn how to play Quarterback in the NFL while having to put up with being a Manning, putting up with Shockey, New York Media.

Now all pressure is off and he can just start playing football.

I have often said this. All he needed was a little structure. Tiki and Shockey disrupted things. I always feared that if they settled things down that they could win. I will say I didnt see last year happening. But I wasnt suprised that they put it together when Tiki and Shockey were not there.

Even in his 1st 2-3 years he looked ready for NFL. Yeah he would force stuff BUT now that there is some semblance of order... he will continue to accel.

McBride is a big part of his structure/success.
This is the order in which the Giants roll

  1. Coughlin
  2. Defense
  3. McBride
  4. Manning

It's a no brainer that the NFC East is going to be very tough this season. The Eagles may be weakest of the group again although that remains to be seen. I remain impressed by the Giants. They seem to have depth along the OL and DL and at WR. Their QB play was a weak point, and if that has changed, they will be difficult indeed. The Cowboys are going to have to stop beating themselves. They lacked discipline at times last season and I have seen no indication yet that has changed. We'll see.

While I dont think the Giants are "PRIMED" to repeat. I do wonder(have concern) if beating us in Dallas in playoffs(when it mattered most) is the game that catapults their franchise for a while?

(ie. Pats against the Raiders - tuck game)

He looked decent. I'm only marginally impressed. What impresses me about the Giants is their D and O lines.

They have a very good D and O line, definitely. But the Hixon kid is looking good and overall (and I hate to admit it) they have more receiver depth than we do. More variety of skills and more players who can actually perform on game day. Overall, I think we have a stronger O-line and running game, but they beat us at D-line and receiver. Quarterbacks are a wash. Our secondary trumps theirs. So do our linebackers.

It's going to be a tight race in the NFC East!

Yeah, I agree with this too -- the rise of the Cleveland Browns is highly overrated. They are not nearly as good as everyone is trying to hype them to be. I think Brady Quinn might turn out to be a player though, as much as I hate to admit it.

Our passing game is going to get really healthy against that pathetic defense in week 1.

Oh, is that armpit hair? I was thinking a little further south....

It was at that point ala Tropic Thunder,he was told not to go full
******.

Yeah, he looked great when he had Sinorice Moss wide open for like a 70 yard TD and he chucked up a flutter ball that died after about 40 yards.

Eli sucks.

He had his moment in the sun last season.

Manning looked ok, but to me, WR Hixon was more important than Manning in that game last night.

This is no surprise to me. I've been watching him for the last couple of years closely, and I wouldn't admit this on CBZ, but I thought he made his reads far quicker than Romo did, it seems as though the ball always came out quicker with him.

Not fast, but he found receivers quickly, thus taking away the threat of a pass rush. I hope this doesn't continue or his developement stops right here.

They do have better WR depth, but I'd take our QB and skill players over their's any day.

MBIII, Jones, TO, Witten over whatever combination of skill players of theirs you could pick. If you made a starting lineup out of the 2 teams, other than Burress, I think every other skill player would be a Cowboy.

I was feeling pretty good about our WRs, until Austin got hurt. If he comes back ok, I think our WR group will be fine.

I think their OL is very good. Maybe as good as ours. They seem to have a more consistent group when it comes to running the ball.

Not to worry. It's only pre-season, and the Cowboys will play a lot better when the games count. They might even play better this weekend.

I still think a big reason for his improvement is NOT having Jeremy Shockey on the field. When Shockey was out there, Eli often looked timid and scared, especially after INTs and INC's (especially if they were to Shockey, or if he didn't throw to him at all).

he doesnt' seem as on-edge as then. Maybe losing shockey was the best thing for his confidence (DAMN HIM!)
