Hope fully I can watch it live there. I have it recorded, but the last time on a preseason game I had recorded that one but when I went to play it, it said it was blacked out in my area because it was playing on a local channel! In this case, channel 5. Watch it happen again to me! lol

See someone pointed this out with the antenna. You'll be watching old school style. Believe it or not, you can get exceptional picture quality with local channels.

No, bro...whoever is in charge of channel 5 NBC broadcasting in this area of Utah, they cancelled their broadcast rights to DierctTV, not the other way around. DirectTV is trying to get it back on somehow, but for now...No NBC.

So NBC isnt broadcast in Utah at all? What if you don't have directv and have another provider, is nbc not available as well. If NBC is not broadcasted at all In Utah anymore than yeah that's a real problem. But if it is broadcast through other cable companies then it would probably be available going through an antenna and getting it off local air. I dunno how it works there but in California where I'm from nbc is a local channel and available through the local airwaves and I am able to get it just using an antenna. I don't have any cable company at all.


Either way, feel for yah bro, that's super frustrating

Yes. Depending on your tv it will probably need to do a search for local signals, but that doesn't take long. I have Dish(bad in bad weather), so I have a digital antenna hooked into the tv as well "just in case". They run between $10-$50 depending on what you need. They have mile ranges listed on them. If you live not far from the broadcast antenna you can get by with a cheap one. I live in Round Rock now which is a pretty good distance from downtown Austin(about 15-20 miles) so I got a 40 mile range one for about $30.

I have NFL Sunday Ticket, but the game is on a local channel (channel 5 here in Utah) so the game will not be on the Sunday Ticket. Well, the problem is that the owner of channel 5 canceled or somehow made it known to DirectTV that that channel will not be shown on DirectTV! Hence, I won't be able to see the game live! My lady cannot even watch her shows on that channel not going on 4 weeks now!

It will be re-broadcast on the NFLN channel but 5 hours later after the game which will be about 2 or 3 am in the freaking Monday morning! So, any suggestions on where or how to watch it live?

It's not a DirectTV thing...it's the owners of channel 5 that are no longer letting DirectTV air their channel

I would do that and stream the radio broadcast through the cowboys app. Honestly i do that anyway, i hate hearing the national media broadcasters

This is the link to nbc but you need to have an online account with your provider (directv) and get authentification to watch. But the OTA antenna is a good idea if you have a tv with a digital receiver.
