I have accepted it. This is just not a good team

It is not just you, but I also watched the offense perform with less than desired intensity against New York and the Bucs. Or is it just me?
For some reason, the offense looked demoralized after Tampa took the 14-10 lead. I have no idea why. But this wasn't the first time I've noticed this.

Bold> I agree 100%. That is exactly what I am talking about and more reflective of what this franchise has fielded for a long time, not just this season.

Remember how we used to say that until we get Garrett's stench off this team that we will never go over the hump. Until we get who was involved in that GB loss off this team - we will never go anywhere. That's where I'm at right now.

I bet if Dak went somewhere else with no pressure and not having to deal with the 32nd defense for multiple years in his career he'd probably do better in the divisional round. DAL needs a QB that will get them over the hump which is their FO, team building and draft and develop strategy. Until we have a Josh Allen or Pat Mahomes in the building the pressure will be too much for this team.
Even Mahomes or Allen could not save this team. Even a great quarterback can't bail out a lousy team, especially one with a crappy defense. See: Archie Manning.

Absolutely. I can recall this stuff going back to 2019. Probably longer than that. That's about how far my memory takes me on this. Why does it span multiple coaching staffs?

Not saying they don't have talent. But something is off. The defense can't tackle anybody and the offense, while good most of the time has stretches where it looks like high school. Missing blocks, throws in the dirt, receivers playing volleyball instead of making the catch. No one is immune. I am starting to believe in "the curse." What I am watching doesn't make any logical sense. Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark are not this easy to block. The defense cannot tackle any RB except Derrick Henry. And they can't tackle any QB at all. Maybe it's Schottie.. I thought the guys would respond to his low key, no BS, honest approach but they haven't. They like him but they are not inspired by him. And that worries me.. This team plays without passion.. and as good as some of them are.. as a whole they are not talented enough to get away with that. It's left me unable to enjoy any game. And to be honest I'm starting to get kinda mad about that. I need to see some guys breathing fire Sunday night.. Even if we lose I need to see all 46 guys who suit up playing with their hair on fire. If they don't then Schottie might not even need to get back on the flight home cause he will be unemployed before the post game interviews are done.
Good Post, you are spot on something is indeed off. That is for sure and for certain, it is a mystery of epic proportions. On paper this team looks potent, but when they play something is amiss. Maybe the Sunday night game will be different and this football team can play the first complete game of the young season and get a win.

Typical RonnieT24 post
I could have written it before he posted it:

I know it is Jerry
I know it is Stephen
I know it is Schotty
I know it is the defense

AND

I KNOW it is everyone and everything except the great savior Dak

Thx Ronnie
I hope the Dak check cleared

The Cowboys biggest enemy is perception that they’re great & success.

They don’t handle positive hype & success very well.

Regardless of how good of a team they have.

Quinnen Williams definitely is pissed. He called the team meeting because these guys are making him look like a JAG and taking away from his legacy and ability to ever be considered all-pro ever again. I would be pissed too, if 10 other people were so bad they made it look like I went from All-Pro to UDFA.

I’ve seen Barham of all people who’s come in for high praise , take some plays off and I’m amazed he’s only a rookie . But then in the LB room in meetings does anyone call anyone out and who in that LB group can call out Barham . None of the players that’s for sure .

And I think CP has made this way more complicated than need be . Caleb Downs is one of your starting safeties period end of discussion . He’s not a part time nickel back or anything else . Play him where he excelled at Ohio State end of discussion .

RonnieT, every team in the NFL has talent, they pick at the top of every round every year from the same pool of players. the problem is what you do with those players, and how do you coach them, train them and put them in the best position to succeed. That is where the failure lies. So the FO and the coaching makes the difference. Coaches have been hired and fired by the limitations set by the same person. Feel like i'm just preaching to the choir. The one constant failure in the organization the past 30 years, and i don't need to tell you who it is. But Rowdy is a close second, that's another story.

A common theme that I’ve noticed over the years is their habit of taking way too many teams on their schedule lightly. It happens every year. Teams with lousy records show some fight and Dallas always appears off guard. This team has an arrogance it carries with them that is almost unmatched in the NFL. I don’t get it. Jerry puts on a good show with the stadium, The Star, etc but the final product is severely flawed.

Almost every preseason this team is anointed as “The Year” when in fact it becomes quite evident it is just another underachieving Cowboys team.

Years go by with more of the same.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard that stadium as quiet when Dallas was on defense. And the boos as loud at one point.

Something is certainly off.

My question is when will it end?

That's the number one question. Coaches are hired and fired. So are front office personnel. Players are drafted, signed, traded, and waived. Support staff turns over.

Football teams are just like any other organization. Leadership is a component of all organizations. Leadership drives how organizations function, sometimes at all levels.

This stuff spans a revolving door of coaches, players, staff, and sub-executives. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle said it best: "When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

Who are the leaders of this organization and how long have they been integral components that shaped this franchise and its teams season after season? That is the answer.
