I Have Faith in This Group of Guys

So, the playoffs are here and the regular season is over. For some reason, Cowboy fans are more pessimistic than ever. But the pessimism goes so far back that it has nothing to do with this group of guys. Sure, they made the playoff last year and got bounced out in round 1. But they're back again this year and I sense a different vibe with the members of this team.

As our luck would have it, we're playing Tom Brady, who has won more Super Bowls than any other player in the history of the league, and he has our number. But when the game starts, the past statistics don't matter.

What matters is, can this group of guys get it done against an 8-9 team in the first round?

If Jason Garrett were the coach, I'd have zero faith in this team.

But this is a different year, different group, and I think we've got as good of a chance as anyone.
Which Cowboys team is going to show up? The one that smoked Minny or stepped up on Christmas Eve vs Philly?

Or the team that struggled with Houston and Indy or utterly no-showed last week in Washington when the division was technically still in play?

This team is schizophrenic. They demonstrate elite potential, and then inexplicably crap the bed repeatedly and consistently play dumb and play down to inferior opponents.

The coaches and players all say the right things— but they need to prove it. CAN they beat Tampa? Absolutely. WILL they? Depends on which team shows up— and I have no idea who this team is — except that they are inconsistent.

Dak needs to run like lil Jalen or were bumming.

I'll be relying on hope.

I guess the only difference between faith and hope is whether the Cowboys would win by divine intervention or lucky circumstances.

When it comes to the playoffs, I'd say this team is long overdue for both.

It's not just the Washington game though. They really haven't played well in over a month.

The defense is nothing like what we thought it was mid way thru the season. And Dak still looks like a rookie QB at times.

I hope I'm wrong. But this team hasn't shown me anything to make me think it will be different this year. I see a bad start Monday and a hole they just can't climb out of before the final whistle

I'm actually hoping the defense not playing well was by design. Because the design has changed with Parsons playing so many snaps at DE.

The defense performed better when the Cowboys were rotating guys more on the defensive line and when Parsons was playing some LB.

If we're going to beat a team with McCaffrey running the ball, I'd say we're better off playing Parsons at LB, and letting guys like Sam Williams take over the DE duties.

We'll see what happens soon enough. First thing is first, we gotta beat the Bucs.

I think everyone is thinking about the Wash game still which is understandable, they sucked. Having said that this is a good team. They just need to play the game and don’t worry about the pressure. It’s a simple game and they are the better team.
I think everyone IS still thinking of the Wash game.

AND the ga.e against the Titans JV squad.
AND the game against a Houston team, that not only was the least talented team in the league, but also having nothing to play for except a draft pick.

Most of our wins this year are against winning teams and playoff teams. We lost to Tampa already and this team is being smoked on the media everywhere. Should be enough fuel to lit their butts to play like the team they should be.

Honestly this team i feel like can only beat itself. It has before plenty, but lets see if they prove the doubters wrong monday

But not in the playoffs. We’ve shown what happens when the bright lights come on. I know this isn’t the same team as all of those, but some franchises just seem of know how to lose under those lights, and we’ve become one of them.

Quite below average with the current injuries forcing the players we have on the field to have prominent roles.

The loss of Anthony Brown is the biggest issue, although I'm interested to see how well Rhodes plays.

A lot of it will come down to how well he plays. He's one of the most intuitive corners I've ever seen as far as game knowledge and being able to read body language of his opponents, etcetera.

Good to see a level headed fan. We’re few am far between.

At least someone has faith in them. I can’t even remember the last time I lacked this much faith in a Cowboys team entering the playoffs.

I’d feel better if he played at least one game with us before Monday night. But yes, he should be better than what we’ve had over there since Brown went down.

I’m with you. I have close to zero hope they can win. I can’t envision a way we stop Brady.

The last three QBs they faced were backup QB’s and they had issues defending them, so it’s hard to have confidence they can contain Tom Brady.
