I agree with what you're saying about transitive properties, as my follow up post on the topic would indicate. I don't believe we have a particular matchup problem with the PHI offense, though. If we contain the run like we did the two times we faced them last season, that's a very different game. I also think we got bad Romo/tired Romo and not good Romo on Thanksgiving.

My original point, though was that the way PHI played SEA early wasn't an indication that we couldn't beat them. For mostly the same reasons you're pointing out here.

I think our matchup problem is on the edges. We did not contain at all that game and they got to the edge constantly. That set the tone. That has to be corrected. I think not being able to sub and keeping the same players on the field for so long hurts us as well. We need to rotate guys in and out, especially on the DL. We kind of adopted the Seahawks way of thinking. Keep the DL fresh.

This whole playing zone so often needs to be scratched. It doesn't work with no pass rush. You have to blitz Sanchez.

Kiffin had no problem against the Eagirls offense last year which is amazing because he had problems with every other offense last year.

It was one of the worst tackling games the Cowboys have had in awhile. I would guess if they can fix that, it would be a start.

This is precisely why you should be much more optimistic heading into this week's game. The offense stalled because of one guy, Tony Romo. This was his second game of the year where he basically lost the game for us because he was so ineffective, week 1 against the 49ers being the first. And I'll take that any day of the week. Why? Because I know Romo will bounce back, he is the least of my concerns. I'm just so happy that we get this mini-bye, Romo is going to look like an entirely different QB next Sunday.

No... that isn't true.

The offensive line, especially the 3 interior players were bad, with Martin being very bad and Leary being awful

It was by far the worst offensive line showing of the season.

I agree. I also think beside talent these guys are smart, they will go back over the film and see what Philly did and what they did and correct it.

Whenever they play man they've been successful, i don't get Rod's obsession with zone seeing as how it never works and they give up huge chunks of yards.

And so many claimed they played well. Not from what I saw.

Rod's one of the few coaches I won't question. He has the toughest job as far as coaches go. But if I were him, I would sell the farm this Sunday. After this week a loss makes every thing else meaningless.

Every coach mixes coverages, so that fact that we're not always in man is not surprising. We just played too much of it at the end of the game in CHI, because we were basically in prevent from 6 minutes into the third quarter of that game. That's a long time to be playing prevent. We played poorly in zone during that time, though, obviously, and I'm gripping anytime we're in zone during the other games, too. That's an area where getting more pressure will help out on the back end, too, obviously.
