Please tell me this is one your classic jokes.superpunk;2078653 said:My guess is that the coaching staff sees nothing wrong with his delivery on the shotgun snap and are allowing him to completely ignore that facet of his game this offseason.

It's not that he needs to work on it 24/7, it's that he really does need to address it. I'm sure he can improve in that area if he puts his mind to it. I want consistenly bad shotgun snaps to be a thing of the past in Dallas.HTownCowboysFan;2078682 said:LOL! Things must be really slow for this thread.
What gets me sometimes, are fans who think these guys should be doing football 24/7. Do any of those folks do their job 24/7?

That's definitely true. But I think the positives outweigh the negatives, especially if you have a center and QB in sync. Another negative I think is that it's harder to do playactions, so the defense usually knows if it's a run or a pass almost immediately. Speaking of playactions though, the QB has to take his eyes off the field for those too.Eskimo;2078744 said:I remember that some QBs complained they have to take their eyes off the field to focus on catching the snap and this disturbs their rhythm. I don't remember Troy Aikman or Steve Young using the shotgun much, for example.
While that is true about Aikman and Young It is also true that Elway insisted on having the shotgun incorporated into the offense because it gave him a better view of the field. And Staubach did pretty well with the formation...for what it's worth.Eskimo;2078744 said:I remember that some QBs complained they have to take their eyes off the field to focus on catching the snap and this disturbs their rhythm.
