...in the regular season. And have playoff success until they play us.

I want that team to show all the signs of coming together under Coughlin because if he gets the axe I will guarantee you that Jason Garrett is their next head coach.

It simply makes too much sense. Who would you rather have creating an environment of success for Eli Manning? And I don't care if Cowher does make himself available. Give me Garrett. I think NY will feel the same way, and I think that would be a plum of a job for someone like Garrett.

I think this Garrett to NY is almost a slam dunk at this point and you're dreaming if you think he's going to stay in Dallas as an assistant no matter what dollars Jerry promises him. Jason Garrett's future is NOW!

Why?

We have already swepted the Giants and won by double digits each time.

I don't think Garrett is going anywere next season.

Is this a record of some sort? I know some folks don't read all the posts but don't most people at least read the first one of a thread? Wow!

Actually, it makes no sense at all... NFL owners are a notoriously conservative bunch, and I find it highly unlikely that any owner would want to trust his team to such a raw coach... Jason just doesn't have the resume yet to be legit head coaching material...

Two, maybe three years down the line, it might be a vastly different story, but I'll be astonished if Jason's time comes this quickly...

I don't think Coughlin keeps his job anyway. They can win out and then lose in the playoffs and he will get canned.

When it comes to Garrett, San Diego worries me more than the NYFG at this point.

Then I hope that EVERY team wins out, that way no coaches will be fired and we can keep Garrett forever!

The Cowboys can deny other teams from talking to him, if Jerry doesn't want him to leave, he won't let him.

They can't deny him interviewing for Head Coaching jobs.

Can they not? My bad then.

I was thinking I heard/read somewhere that the Dolphins could have told us no from talking to Garrett, and wasn't his interview for the head coaching job?

Those who believe this obviously do not know how the Jerry mafia works, he will not loose Garrett, verbal promises have been made, his next head coaching assignment will be for us, book it...Jerrah made him an offer he can't refuse, only he did it last year before the season began..

One young "genius" is enough in NY as Mangini is quickly wearing out his welcome around here. Jason's best move is staying put as he's not ready for HC by a longshot. IMHO Jason is too young and green to coach in NY. Not the place you break into head coaching, nevermind the 80s giants circa Tuna would constantly overshadow him until he won a Lombardi.

He needs some work on his current gig OC, he makes alot of mistakes for all the great plays Romo & co. bail him out on (continual 3rd long, not establishing the run, trying to run on obvious passing downs, etc.)

I am sure Norv will be canned after the season. If Jason leaves, I would not mind bring Norv back as our OC.

Prepare to be astonished then.

And I will happily eat crow in March if this fails to transpire. (not just NYG but any HC job).

Mark My words Coach Nolan is gone in SF and they have invested too much money in Smith and Gore they will Sign Garrett as Head coach. they have a good defense just no offense to speak of. there is your dark hose as potential landing spot for Garrett.
