MB3 and DMac behind a HH coached Oline will be UNSTOPPABLE.....

How about Barry Sanders, Jim Brown and Walter Payton behind a HH coached Oline? NOW we're talking!

I love these people thats say your crazy for thinking that we will trade up to get McFadden but in the same breathe they will say we a need a WR and a CB in the first. It has been over a decade since we drafted a WR in the first. Some people are just not to smart. They need to deal with the fact that McFadden will be a Cowboy and we won't be drafting any of these WR's that they want.

Emmit Smith should probably be included on a Cowboys forums :starspin:

The only question I have is can his lower body hold up because he's not built strong in the thighs and calfs...

I think more people are against the idea of trading the farm to get a player at a position where we already a great player.

I mean, what you give for him could potentially be 2-3 really good starters at WR, CB, and even a servicable backup at RB.

If you watched hte playoffs, RB play was not really the biggest problem.

And as much as you might like a player, remember what happened when New Orleans traded away their whole draft to get Ricky Williams.

[SARCASM] Everytime I convince myself that this kid is an overrated bust waiting to happen, and that we'd be better served waiting until rd2 to pickup a Ray Rice or Chris Johnson, some fool goes and posts DMac's vids. Now I'm conflicted again. Crap! Why are you doing this to me? What have I ever done to you that would make you want to keep me in a state of confusion? I'll spend the rest of the day scratching my head thanks to you.[/SARCASM]

BTW, Drew Boylhart(thehuddlereport.com) says that DMac is a bigger/better version of Gayle Sayers, and that if he refines his game, and cut down on fumbling, he has the potential to be the best RB to EVER play in the NFL.

did you ever hit it on the head!

The highlight reels are unreal. Say what you want about holes are huge or he out runs people. But to put that many long runs through 2 yrs is pretty amazing. He must be doing something right. I bet you can't find that many long runs from AP. It's not like he is a secret. He plays in the SEC for crying out loud. 8 or 9 in the box is routine for him. His combination of size and speed allows him to break the LOS and once he is on the second level, he's got a 50/50 chance of going all the way. If Romo passing the way he did last yr with AP in the backfield....Defense will have nightmares.

yes, I do understand we need secondary help badly.......but if he drops to 7-10 range, you got to think about it if the price is right. The other thing to consider is how many 22 or 28 picks from years prior pan out. Sure you are paying a heavy price but chances of hitting in the top 10 is much higher.

A quick thing, how are we going to get a good running back to go with Barber if we worry that they will be a bust?

Should the guy not be considered in the top 5? Is everyone in the whole country completely wrong? Are we missing your magic logic?

Seriously, you can't tell if he will be a bust or not. But you do know hes projected as going that high for a REASON. Your outnumbered 10,000 to 1 basically. So all those people are wong

But, if we have to trade Barber or something, then no way. But if not, then im completely open to this.

If you are worried about running backs that are projected top 5 or top 10 being busts, then you'd probably be horrible drafting if you were a GM.

why is 2 draft pics and a player considered "selling the farm"?

Because you're passing up 2 draft picks and a player for at best a marginal upgrade and at worst a downgrade. The risk/reward is just absurd to justify that move. Even if we did trade up to the top 5 (which I don't want, really) I'd rather take Chris Long, Dorsey, or Jake Long as all those picks would probably offer more of an upgrade.
