I just don’t believe we are smart enough to beat the Bucs

The Cowboys are a good but flawed team. Early on the defense was playing out of its mind with Parsons and crew but the league adjusted and we are back to bend but not break too often.
Now the Offense is playing better, but we have a flawed HC, O-coordinator, Zeke is a progress killer and has been for more than 2 years but the owner is in charge so here we are.
Dak is good ( really hard to admit as I was dead against paying him), imagine if we has on the 49ers, or Rams , or Sean Payton. He is not elite but good enough to win a couple playoff games.
I think we do not match up very well against the Bucs. Their WR's will get open all day against this secondary, we need to be in Brady's face right up the gut that is where he is vulnerable.
Hopefully Hankins will make a difference once he returns.

This team is just stupid

let’s get that out of the way. It has moments of being flat out stupid.

-Our OC abandons the run when it seems to be working

-Our Qb turns over the ball in his own territory frequently

-we have an erratic secondary

I honestly believe this is the worst matchup in the playoffs for us
Probably all depends on how disruptive Micah & company are. If they get in Brady's face and pressure him the Cowboys win.
It's as simple as that. If Brady has consistent time he will eat up this secondary.

Two primary objectives to beat Brady:

1. Hit him. Often. Maybe even take a penalty or two, but hit him. I've watched several of his games, and he easily starts getting out of rhythm if you just hit him. Starts throwing the ball into the dirt. Try to beat him w/ coverage, and you won't. Not to mention you will make yourself look really dumb, as that has proven to not work.
2. Don't turn the ball over/move the ball. Goes hand in hand. Limit his time w/ the ball.

Not rocket science, but we don't seem to understand.

was it smarts that got the DB burned covering Mike Evans 3 times yesterday? Or the guy just got burned?
It was a lack of pressure by CAR. Sure way to lose to Brady, give him time. Very poor game planning by CAR.

I 100% agree with you on this. It’s similar to the gameplan that the Saints had against Favre back in 09. Punish him, make things hard for him, and don’t be stupid with the ball. In this game, a punt is not a bad play, turnovers are. The bucs are winning by taking advantage of stupid play from quarterbacks recently

100% agree but it is so hard as he has been playing 20 years for a reason. There are no more accolades left to describe him. He is the best at getting rid of the ball.
He led the league in passing yards last year and is only second to Mahomes this year.

The league will be in Brady protection mode also. Let's not forget how much he whines to the refs about being touched. Don't take a rouging the passer on a ticky tack hit.

I am having flashbacks of how our inside guys handle Vita Vea? The one issue I have seen with Dak in the pocket this year is, getting sacked "late" in the play, after his initial reads are covered he tends to stand really shallow in the pocket. He has taken too many sacks that way this year. Please let me know if I am imaging this?

Plus, I watched a good part of the CAR game, and they were not getting to Brady. Hey, I have no idea why, maybe they aren't talented enough. But, giving Brady time is a death sentence. Sell out if you have to, but get to him.

I'm sure they will. However, just do like the old Steelers. If they call a ticky tack penalty, hit him harder the next play. Let them keep calling penalties. Penalize all the way down the field if you have to, but make him pay.

I think you have to take some roughing penalties at times. Especially against Brady.

Smart or not, this team is not beating Tom Brady on the road. Not going to happen

That's what this team is. We see it over and over and over. Against Brady. Against Rodgers. Even Trevor Lawrence.

That is my mindset until they prove me wrong.
That’s why they play the game.

And this is coaching.

Do we really believe Moore will outcoach Todd Bowles?

And do we really believe Quinn has a good chance of outsmarting Brady??

Special teams (they need a blocked punt and/or a punt return for a TD) and both the OL and DL will have to have MASSIVE games for the Cowboys to have a decent chance.

If it comes down to coaching, I just don't feel confident enough...not given the Cowboys recent history when the lights shine bright in January.
Yeah, the most important for me. Head Coaching.
I don't see McCarthy as a master strategist, motivator or major gameday contributor.
After last year's post game 49ers debacle of "We were nervous, and I had no input whatsoever to the offense in the week leading up to the game..."

I mean, with quotes like that I'm slightly concerned.
Just slightly, lol.

The thing is Brady not athletic but very smart. Personally I'm 50/50 on this game I could see it go either way BUT if Dallas gets beat again in the playoffs by not advancing than I feel 98% sure Jerry goes sniffing in Payton back yard and the reason he's going to blame the coaching staff and say roster is pretty good to perform this way. Look for Jerry to go sniffing.

Gonna have to beat the refs too as they will be helping Brady on his go out on top tour.

Today bad and I mean bad game planning by Kellen Moore and even worse poor play by Dak Prescott. Both are terrible.

They are playing offense in a box 3 yard runs and 5 yard passes. This makes it so easy for Washington Defense to set back and play D. The Cowboys have to take shots down field which helps with not only the offense moving downfield faster it sets them up for pass interference penalities.

The Tampa playoff game will be about Dak and the offensive line vs Todd Bowles and the Buccaneers defense. Can Dak make the right decisions and not turn the ball over. Can the offensive line protect Dak and open holes to run. Brady is good for a drive or two at the end of games but if the Cowboys offense can dictate the game we win.
