i really hope Reeves starts showing up and turns out to be another "Nnamdi Asomugha" from the raiders.....in his 4th season he just became shut down!

2 tell you the truth i wish we had him.....but since we don't....i hope Reeves can come in his 4th or 5th season and just ball out like him....

Nnamdi is actually 1 of few corners i actually like and think is a legit true corner, like Newman, Mcalister, and Baily....not no damn D Hall...who is all talk

but yea i am rooting for Reeves

I thought about 1-2 years ago that Cowboys were liking Reeves playing. Now either he regressed or failed to develop further. Maybe now with the pressure on him & the possibility of the #3 CB position within his grasp, he'll find a way to step it up. We sure need him to do that. Of course if our DL/LB core can get the kind of pressure we need on Eli, our secondary could have a good night.

I don't see how that's the case since the Cowboys thought enough of him to release Aaron Glenn, thus making him their 3rd corner, and which would mean he's jumped from 4 to 3 on the depth chart, I don't think that's called regressing

Reeves has world class Speed. He can make up for mistakes and must have shown Coaches something to feel comfortable cutting Glenn.

Parakeete Jones is a solid nickel CB Option also. Year after year he makes team.

It would be great if Reeves could become a good nickle back for us.

He is only 24.

i try hard not to root for any particular player over someone else, i want
all of "our guys " to do well....but at training camp i met reeves dad
and little brother and they were super nice, had a nice chat about the
progress we are both expecting from jacques this year. hopefully this
is the year that "jock" steps up, actually it better be the year since
aaron glenn is gone. on a side note ... any glenn fans upset about him getting
cut, it may be my fault, seems like any time i get an individual to sign
something his time with the Boys is getting short ! sorry Mr. Glenn, i still
appreciate your effort here.

Reeves was a track guy,
Off top of my head going into 2004 draft he ran a low 4.3's at combine.

Yep. One of his best traits is his speed, he was a 100 meter champion in the big ten in 2003 and finished 1 or 2 in a number of other events.

I like reeves and I am in a strange way looking forward to seeing him play.

Basically people have zero expectations for him so he can only improve.

I personally have expectations for him. I've liked him since he was drafted and he has made improvements every year. I actually thought he could be an eventual replacement for Henry, but with Newman's injury, he may have an opportunity to start a few games this year.

BTW welcome back Nors, good to see you posting again.

Now that I think about it, it's dang time for guys like Reeves to step up, and put up or shut up. He's been stealing money from Jones for a while now, it's time to pay his dues.

I didn't know he had that kind of speed. It always seems like he gives up too much of a cushion. Hopefully our DB's will make plays in a more aggressive style defense.

In that Monday Night game against the Skins 3 years ago(in Parcells/Gibbs first matchup in 20 years), that was the game Pete Hunter tore his knee, and Reeves came in to fill his shoes. The announcers mentioned how he was a world class sprinter.

I'm rooting for Reeves to do well simply because he is a Cowboy. However, I've seen enough of him over the past 3 yrs or so to feel that he is not our long-term answer at CB. He seems to play too soft and without the kind of confidence that a player should have at his position. He also doesn't seem to have that great of ball skills.

In short, he's a player with all the right metrics without the right instincts/aggressiveness.

Nevertheless, here's to hoping he proves me wrong this year.

Maybe He will turn out like E Walls. They threw at him constantly for afew games. He paid them back by becoming one of our best corners for several years
