I just realized I'm the key to the game tomorrow

I still can't get over the missed game on Thanksgiving! Were you with family in Amish country or what???
I hate reliving it, but the facts of the story are 100 times worse than what I shared.

My wife's aunt and uncle were well off at that time. They owned several funeral homes in the metroplex. They had a sprawling ranch way out in the sticks. I barely knew them. But, they had a big projection screen TV. I was completely jacked about watching the game. Cable was out. So, I literally went and sat out in one of the old farm trucks out there to listen to the game on a poor-reception AM station. I came in at half-time to eat...and no one was there. Well, Mel's uncle and several of the older guys (I was in my early 20's at the time) were gone. I grabbed myself a plate that I figured I could inhale in time to get back out to the truck.

Then it comes out...since the cable was on the fritz...they decided to go to the game. :-( This isn't a joke or a tale. They went to the game because Fat David had a luxury box that had been gifted to him for the season. And they didn't invite me. Fat David went to the game.

I'm not bitter.

I remember when I took stats 101 and thought impressing people with elementary terms was cool.

It's called a joke.
Well I took stats 101 back in fall 2011, but have taken an abundance of math courses since before graduating and starting work... I think 5 or 6.

I know y'all hear stuff like this all the time and some of you even think you have an impact in the outcome. Of course, we know better than that. Some of you wear your lucky jersey. Some of you have some sort of routine you follow. Some of you haven't changed your underwear since 95. I get it, but those things are always just slightly less than effective. I am the key to us winning tomorrow. Further, I can guarantee a win the following week.

Unfortunately, I have no control over the actual Superbowl. We'll just have to ball out that game and beat whoever makes it there to play us.

I have been a Cowboys' fan since conception. I have missed watching two games since 1985...and neither was my fault. One was due to visiting my wife's family on Thanksgiving. They had no cable and no care for what makes a proper Thanksgiving day. I haven't visited them since. The second was due to the new dadgum flex scheduling thing. The moved the game time after my wife had made "unchangeable" plans. We have stayed married, but it was touch-and-go there for a while.

I was given tickets to my first actual game by my dad as an early Christmas gift many years ago. It was December 6th, 1987. It such a beautiful day. Unseasonably mild. T-shirt stuff. We played a team I cared nothing about, the Atlanta Falcons. We went on to win 27-10. I still have the foam finger they were giving away around here somewhere.

Fast forward to the only other game I've seen in person. November 11th, 2001. My wife and I bought tickets at the beginning of the year. We couldn't get the tickets we wanted...you know...a division rival. So, I ended up at yet another Falcons game. We rooted and cheered the Cowboys on to yet another victory over a team I cared nothing about. 20-13.

One way or another, I'm buying tickets to the game for next week. That should not only guarantee that we beat Green Bay, but that we will play Atlanta next week and that we'll win.

We are on our way to the Superbowl friends.

You're welcome.

Are you sure the Cowboys won those games you attended?

Not even a jinx can stop this team. Prior to this year I have traveled to Dallas for more than ten games. Zero wins. My first game in Dallas was on Thanksgiving day 93 as a kid against the Dolphins.. We all know how that went. Next was in 95 against the 49ers.... blown out. It continued from there. Last game in Texas Stadium: loss. First game in the death star: loss. This year I try again against the bucs. WIN!

Nothing can stop this team!

Also fortunately my home team jinx works just fine where I live (Commanders country) All Dallas wins when I have gone.

I think you are mistaken, *if* we play the Falcons, then you are the key. Show up tomorrow or even if we play Seattle and you will surely jinx us.

I'm pondering whether to wear my Prescott number 4 tomorrow I've never worn it on game day yet.
Why?

It's blue

My Sunday shirt is 9-1 if you don't count the last game. Should I wear it or no?
