I didn't get to see the whole game last week although I did get updates on my iphone and the restaurant I was at had it on a TV across the room. I got home to catch the last 7 mins or so. Here are a few of my thoughts. Nothing earth shattering but hey I'm a fan and I need to talk about it...

I'll start off by saying what a great effort this game was. If I had a way to get it from my DVR to DVD it would be a keeper!

Patrick Crayton - I love ya man but please tuck the ball away when you're returning punts! There was a return he did that I think was in the first quarter and he was holding the ball in one hand and waving it all over the place. Pretty scary.

Tony Romo - I'm so glad this guy is our QB. I think back to the drought years after Aikman left and I do appreciate the man at the helm now. I didn't see any fear or any "deer in the headlights" look in his eyes. This guy is a competitor and he loves to compete! The better he understands the game, the bigger terror he is going to be!

Roy Williams - I didn't realize what an importune drop that was in the 4th quarter. If we get that conversion then maybe the Saints don't score again. I hope Roy gets it all worked out.

Defense - Outstanding play and they rose to the occasion when called upon. Ware and Spencer were great as was the rest of the D against a high powered offense.

Nick Folk - I'm sorry things ended the way they did. I really liked this guy but it was obvious that he couldn't play for us any more this year.

Coach Wade and staff - Excellent job preparing this team for a huge game. I've had doubts about the coaching staff at times like everybody else but I'll gladly give props where they are due. Wade gets double props since he's the Defensive Coordinator too. I'd never seen that signal he was using toward the end of the game when he was rubbing his thumb and fingers together. Perhaps that signal was directed toward the owners suite regarding next years contract? ;)

You were out to eat with iphone updates instead of watching our team play a must win game against the undefeated darlings of the NFL?

That girl must have been really hot..... we need pictures.

However hot she is, she's not a keeper if she's dragging you out during a game.

If you're going to let a girl keep you from a game, it better be doing something far more important than going to a restaurant.

I thought I'd be home in time to catch the second half but it didn't quite work out that way. Nevertheless, knowing that they were leading held me over until I got home. I have to admit that my expectations were rather low going into the game. But seeing what the results were, I'm thinking that I'll start a restaurant fund and see how many zoners I can get to contribute. I think that my presence at the restaurant could have been the key to our victory...

I went to a bar to watch the game. Thankfully my wife didn't protest considering I have a 6 week old and 2 year old at home.

I just went out and spent some time with some good friends. I started this thread to actually talk about the game but it seems to have gotten sidetracked. Sounds like you have a good wife! Were you as surprised as I was at the effort that came from Dallas?

Good observations, btw, rickwil. I remember yelling at Crayton on that runback, too, flailing it around out there like a loaf of bread. And no excuse for RW letting that ball get to his shoulderpads on just about the only route he's supposed to be good at running on a critical third down.

Great points,Rick. I thought also of the RW drive killing drop, and seem to remember a couple more like it in previous games. Sorta reminds me of a number of drive killing 3rd down drops by the departed TO,drives that had they been completed with scores, could have changed a loss to a win. Fortunately, the maligned by some on this board "O-Tree",with his "two tippie toe down" inbounds catch in the latter part of the game did manage to keep a good time killing drive going. I'm not saying O-Tree should start; There's an ad nauseum thread about his six catch merits already on this board. But he,along with the TE Phillips and T-Choice,are sharp arrows in our quiver, unlike the rubber suction cup type arrow that RW seems to have turned into at the most inopportune and damaging times.

Yeah Roy is a mystery. Jerry said on the Fan yesterday that Roy is an integral part of the offense, etc. etc. but I have a hard time seeing it. I mean he has made a few great catches this year but I don't see the kind of consistency out of him that I do Austin. Jerry also pointed out that they all drop catches and while that's true, it just seems that Roy drops more catches at critical times than others. I think the bottom line for Jerry is that he's invested a lot in Roy and he can't stand the thought that this guy may be a bust. Whatever the problem is, I hope they can get it worked out. Roy was great his rookie year and I hope he can find what he lost.

I was surprised to see him carrying the ball that way. I don't remember him doing that previously. Our high school coach used to call that, "carrying the ball like it's a loaf of bread."

actually someone should keep count of critical drops or critical bad passes. ThaT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING STAT to watch.

But its hard to beat Craytons drop vs the giants in the playoff game over the last few years.

Or, not to change the subject, but Crayton not finishing his route in the same game...

You have to set the ground rules early with your significant other. There is a direct tv radio ad that makes my laugh every time I hear it. The guy is singing about his lucky couch and sending his family away during the game all to the NFL theme music.

Michael Irvin destroyed that claim on his radio station the day after the game.

I thought we were going to blow the game. I did love how the defense was playing.
