And boy am I annoyed. Not that Wentz had a reasonably good game.
I'm annoyed because having not seen the game and only seeing the early game thread ON THIS BOARD, I was led to believe Wentz was having one of the best rookie performances of all time.
Now that I watched all the throws, I see TWO impressive plays. The scramble to hit Sproles and the last pass to Matthews over the shoulder. Yes, there were a few middle of the field routes he hit and he avoided pressure on occasion BUT THE MAJORITY of his throws were screens and dump offs! On top of that he has 2-3 passes that could have been picked and were ill advised altogether.
It was a good performance. But it WASN'T as good as the performance our own rookie QB had a few hours later. NO HOMER. Seriously, the scramble that Wentz had to hit Sproles was duplicated on three occasions by Dax, one for a completed sidelines pass and the other two for scramble first downs. On top of that Dax had very few dump offs and ZERO passes that were in danger zones for possible INTS.
Yes, Wentz looks to have a slightly stronger arm, but Dax has much LESS movement in the pocket, a place where Wentz is SUPPOSEDLY better.
Dak is more efficient with body effort before and during throws and during runs.
Both players played great for rookies. Dax played slightly better. But SOMEHOW on this board Wentz gets more love.
Unbelievable. Dallas is one of the worst football cities in America.
