My personal take is this country has a severe political correctness problem. How does this pertain to Pac you ask? Well, what is the ultimate get out of jail free card in courts all across the land for drug and alcohol slip-ups? REHAB. If Pac goes through rehab, IMHO, the commish almost has to give him one more shot because he will have shown the willingness to get "help". There are a lot of companies that won't fire you if you get help. Even if you have no intention of staying sober, if you just take that magic rehab pill you are good to go for the short term. Problem is 90% relapse. I suspect Pac will get another chance, and i suspect he will fail in the end, at least as far as the NFL goes.

You are right; we do have a pc problem. Its not politically correct to go out and get drunk when you want. Man has been altering its consious mind for thousands of years. We enjoy altered states. Too many sissies have grown up and let society tell them its bad for them and its bad for other people to do as well.

If Pac wants to go get drunk I say let him. It should be none of my business.

*I know alcohol is not physically good for you.

I was just thinking and for some reason (outside of the Titans picks) I think Jerry has something to do with Pacs suspension. I think in all honesty that Godell would have just put the nail in the coffin on Pac. But he did not. Why? I think Jerry told him the kids got a problem lets see if we can clean him up and revisit a longer suspension in a little later. If he cant theres nothing to lose. Why else would Godell have a wait and see attitude?

I see.

Very Machiavellian, that Jerra!

I will never trust him again.

I think a more involved theory that'd catch some real heat would be to suggest that Jerry set up Pacman to get a minor suspension to get his picks back. Seems really easy to screw over Tennessee here.

As Hos said, Jerry didn't put the bottle to his lips. The kid has immense talent, but a ton of problems. Rehab or not, the choice is ultimately pacman's.

I had a personal battle with alcoholism that lasted almost 3 years. I was on the brink of losing my wife and 2 beautiful kids over it. I never put my family in harm's way due to my disease, but I was never home and was never there for them. What started off as a drink after work during happy hour with co-workers turned into a real problem over time. I considered rehab, but I read that success rates weren't good. In talking with others who fought the disease, they said that the battle must be fought within one's self.

I took a long look in the mirror about 6 months ago and decided to make the change. What I saw was an overweight, out of shape, and hung over guy that needed to fight some demons. I decided the best thing for me was to find other activities to occupy my time and keep my mind off of drinking. I joined a health club the same day, and began to focus on dieting and exercise. I found a release to ease my frustrations in life by taking it out on the weights in the gym instead of picking up the bottle. I'm now much healthier and I've been 100% sober for 6 months. I also enjoy time with my family, and am enjoying my time at work again.

Sorry for the long rant, but personal feelings towards Pac aside, he needs to fight this on his own. Regardless of his future with the team, I do pray that he fights this horrible disease within himself.

So b/c Jerry prevented Goodell from kicking Pacman out of the league for good, he did a BAD thing?

If Goodell really wanted to put the nail in Pacman's coffin, then why would you think Jerry should be wasting his time by asking him to let him off the hook completely?

DID NOT EVEN REMOTELY SUGGEST THAT.

:laugh2: I hear ya, PF. Don't you love it when somebody reads your post, thinks something about it and then posts that you suggested it. Posting in the "third brain" has become popular with some...........

BTW - FWIW, I think Jerry is done with Adam. I think Adam had became harder and harder to deal with as time passed. Jerry probably saw this coming.
