When does Craytons contract run out? Man I can't wait to shed that guy off our team. It can't come soon enough!!

I think 2012. We had re signed him to a 4 year 16 mill deal but I forget what year it was.

Well Dez Bryant better be used to having "Cowboys" on his jersey because he will be a Dallas Cowboy next year!

Sam Young in the 2nd.

According to my armchair, online scouting knowledge, this will be a bad year for wide receivers, so if we are going to get one, we will need to do so early.

Here are some players to focus on:

WR Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State
Explosive receiver with good size-speed ratio that can also return kicks.

OT Trent Williams, Oklahoma
Its about time we started looking for a serious replacement for Flo. Oklahoma breeds good linemen and he will be another one.

C Kristofer O'Dowd, USC
Gurode isn't getting any younger and Proctor is not a serious replacement. I don't even know why he is still on the team but O'Dowd would be a great starter for many years.

DE Carlos Dunlap, Florida
There aren't many 3-4 DE prospects in this coming draft either and Dunlap is the best of them. However, he is pegged to go in the top 10. So unless we have a horrible season, we have no shot unless we trade up.

DT Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska
Another guy pegged to go in the top 10, but he would definitely be worth the trade up. Besides being a top-notch gap stuffer and pass rusher, I found this most impressive about him:
"He also blocked two kicks and returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns."

as an OU homer, i propose we go for one of these guys:

Trent Williams, OT
Sam Bradford, QB
DeMarco Murray, RB
Jermaine Gresham, TE
Gerald McCoy, DT

heh.. but in all seriousness, my gosh, the 5 of them might all be gone by the time we pick in the first round, no joke.. and we obviously won't be taking any QB's, RB's or TE's, so i say we go for Trent Williams or Gerald McCoy.. :D

I understand your homerism but would you rank Gronkowski ahead of OU's Jermaine Gresham? I like both and feel they could both be 2010 first rounders.
Without even blinking.

Blinking is voluntary and involuntary. So your dedication to this #2 TE can not be quantified by that.

The best safety in next years draft will be Eric Berry-safety-Tennessee.
I know he is a junior but he has really good range and ball skills for a safety.
A freak athletically also. Not to compare him to Ed Reed but...dude has sick skills.

I think Crayton is due for some quality playing time this year. I don't get some people's utter disdain for him. I just don't

I think in the 3rd or 4th we could pick up D'Anthony Smith from Louisiana Tech. The man can play.

Much too early, but I would say that we'd need a DE or OT if possible.

How many picks do we have for the 2010 draft? I believe we lost one for the Montrae Holland trade, so that gives us 6. I am not sure if we have acquired any more via trade. I am not sure if we are due any comp picks.

yeah, we've got to draft inside-out next year, unless there's a great player available at cornerback. We need to start grooming a third guy since Newman's likely got a few more good years.

I'd like to see us go OL first, DL second, then DB/LB/WR third.

I posted earlier about drafting linemen with the first two picks. But after thinking about it some more,I just hope we take the best player available. If a lineman is the BPA you take him,if it happens to be a LB you take him.If that were to happen along with not reaching or trading picks for the sake of trading, well i'll be a happy camper.

What about Michael Crabtree? Isn't he supposed to be going back into the draft?

It'd be hilarious if he fell out of the top 10 in 2010
