Ok, guys I know that we need a head coach, and a defensive coordinator, but what about a special teams coach, remember we let dehaven go. Whom out there is a good special teams coach for us to get?

I'd bring Joe back. He was great and our ST were good under him..

Coach Joe, think he'd come back? I always loved his firey antics on the sidelines, our sidelines miss emotion like that.

Think about this. The NFL today is different from when coach Joe led the special teams. Back then, more veterans were starting on the units. Now-a-days, much younger/greener players play those units as the salary cap is nowe the norm. For that reason, I think we need younger blood coaching the special teams. In fact, I wouldn't be opposed to getting in here a college coach who minimally has special teams experiwence, and perhaps also some expereince as a coordinator.

Oh I think Joe could coach anybody. ST is all about heart and emotion, Joe is full of both. He would get the best out of any player, regardless of age...

As long as we're going down Memory Lane......

Bill Bates

Seriously, though, I think it'd be kind of cool to have Coach Joe back, as well, and think it'd be good for Garrett to have him out there also....There's your "Mentor Coach", right there.

You all seem to forgot that in Joe's last few years with the Cowboys our ST weren't very good cause the starters/backups we had weren't very good. Frankly, I think Joe's had his chance and he's got 3 SB rings. Get some young guy in here to coach the ST whose hungry and not a guy whose already won his skins.

maybe jerry will get advice from Deion and let him make that hire for us... you know with these braniac ex-players loaded with accolades make for great GM types and all... might get some good press too.

if not i'm sure Joe A. is waiting around for the nostalgia tour.

Bill Bates? What's he up to now? My cousin loved him.

He was one of the inventors or owners of the shoulder pad cooling system the Cowboys have been using. I think I heard him on the Ticket earlier this season talking about that business.
