not really a huge fan of that thinking. I am not in the FO but all the success Matt Cassell had as a back up he sucked when he came here. Back-up QBs are one of those things if you can upggrade without breaking the bank you do it. in the grand scheme of things Rush up until last year was pretty much an unknown.
I mean he played well as well. I’ve seen nothing to suggest Grier is better.

Hummmm...The Romo had 5 ints in one game

Oppps 5 twice and a 4
This is among my favorite Romo 5 interception games….9 Cowboys points scored in the last 20 seconds ds to win it…….enjoy a walk down memory lane. Cowboys 25 Bills 24.

ORCHARD PARK – Monday night madness struck at Ralph Wilson Stadium, and when the clock reached zero shortly before midnight, there were 71,575 shell-shocked fans standing in stunned, tear-filled silence.
The Buffalo Bills have lost some incredibly heart-breaking games during their tortured history, but their 25-24 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in front of a nationwide Monday Night Footballaudience might leapfrog all the way to No. 2 on the all-time list behind only their Super Bowl XXV loss to the New York Giants.

Has not translated to this level. He looks good at times and not so good at other times. Not saying he has had a bad camp, just that he doesn't always play up to his ability.
Exactly this. Thus far, he has played like a Canadian Football journeyman. Just hasn't really done much.

Grier is a gunslinger, he tries to make a big play every snap and makes too many mistakes.

Grier has better arm talent which gives him a chance if has anything between the ears. I mean teams figured out Rush and realized he cannot make the throws outside the numbers. If Grier is only slightly behind Rush in reading and recognition I would give the job to the better arm talent TBH.

(In bold ^^^^): No, sir. The NFL made a new exception (thanks to the 49ers going through 3+ QBs in 2022 due to season-ending injuries) starting this year that every team can carry a 3rd QB without it affecting their 53 man roster.
Good point! However, its not the 53 player roster thats impacted by this rule its the 46 player game day roster. A 3rd QB on the 53 isnt exempt from a roster spot on the team, but if not active on gameday they can be activated as the 47th player should the other QBs become unavailable. I dont know that this rule will end up leading to more QBs on rosters but surely it will impact teams game day roster decisions.
