They could create a forum for small talk/chit chat with one thread designated for posters who just want to carry on, chatting about anything and everything under the sun excluding politics provided it's within the rules. No other threads in the forum can be started, it's just one big hangout thread. This thread has taken on a life other than just for beer chat and it will continue to be on the front page of the OT section as long as posters keep bumping it up.

Hey, JC!! Gonna buy some tires later today. First quote was over a grand (I have 17" rims), I called Ford, where my car is still being worked on and I'm getting a set of Goodyears for $650. So, not too bad

We have American Tire, which is a very reputable tire company, but they quoted me Falken's for $630 (60k miles, tho, vs the 40k of my Goodyear quote. The $1000 quote was for a set of top Michellins). I called two places, but I also told my service tech to hold off on the tires until I get a final quote. He said that he may be able to bring down the price a little more.

Just bought a new fridge, so this stings a little, and I promised my son a new computer this summer. So money is flying like circus acrobats right now

I get my car back today, JC, but I've had a free rental since last Thursday.
