Very nice. He went to school in USA at Holy Cross as a youngster? If you ever go back to Rome go to the chapel in the pic, it's the best chapel in the Vatican, it's directly under the bones of St Peter. Clementine Chapel.

He went to school in Oak Brook Illinois. Worked Chicago for many years as a Professor and spent summers in Rome. He's been in Rome fulltime for about 8 years now. He spends summer at St. Peter's Cathedral in downtown Chicago and gets to come home to Texas 2 or 3 times a year. He does a lot of Speaking here in the US, he negotiates a plane ticket home to see my dad and us as often as he can. We're very proud of him. He's written 9 books, mostly for university use. He said mass with Pope John Paul II a few times. He even had him bless a crucifix for my HS graduation. He had Pope Francis Francis bless a pendant for my daughters Quinceanera. Sorry I went on. My lovely wife took me to Fogo de Chao - a Brazilian steak house where they bring a seemingly endless supply of meat to your table. Lesson -learned - if you politely ask, "... Gee, do you have any more of the filet mignon", they will gladly comply.

Now, I need a rather long nap.

35 years. He's a Franciscan Friar. He's a director at the Pontifical University and the Pope appointed him as Secretary General of PAMI. It's some kind of think tank, not all sure what they do lol. He actually says mass from his apartment. It's only for a Zoom audience. It's pretty cool to have family and friends from around the world. I havent seen some of these cousins in about 15 years. We all get to participate and discuss the readings

Don't look now but a poster started a Beer thread and pretty much trashed this one and said it was closed and he could see why.

Now, I wouldn't necessarily take that as a slam because the authorities could have looked in the tavern and seen all you guys and figured 'nah, they don't need anymore in this tavern, believe I'll just gently close and lock the door and nail it shut and be moseying on my way'.

I think for that reason and the seasonality, you guys might want to turn the tavern into a nice patio bar and get you some of those little umbrellas for your libations, they really do add an air of festivity. I'm putting a wading pool in front of my patio bar so I can act like I'm at one of those cool swim up bars. I wouldn't expect you fellers to go that far because not everyone can pull that off as well as I can.
