But I think if we had done them opposite with Jenkins first, we wouldn't have needed to trade up to get Felix.

I am more than a little bummed that Detroit held firm. Totally stupid of them.

Given that the Titans selected Chris Johnson at #24, the chance of them not taking Felix Jones is about ZERO!!!!

Jerry Jones played the first round PERFECTLY!!!!! He was able to get arguably the best CB in the draft as well as the PERFECT compliment to Marion Barber. Had he not taken Jones at #22, Jones is definitely taken by Tennessee, and you could make a VERY strong argument that Pittsburgh would have taken Jones as well.

Keep this in mind about Mendenhall, he is a RB that can ONLY make an impact as a RB, you can not line him up as a WR or use him as a returner like you can with Felix Jones. Jones was the ONLY RB we could have taken that would have made an impact without taking Marion Barber off the field.

They must feel that Jenkins is far superior to the other CBs that were on the board if they were willing to move up three spots to ensure getting him.

I've not seen him play myself.

I like the picks a lot.

I'm a little bummed that we didn't trade for RW, but here's how I see it playing out now:

Terry Glenn comes back healthy next year, has a great full year. We win the Super Bowl and he retires on top.

Then we sign RW as a Free Agent and don't have to give up a single pick to do it.

Win win situation!

Seems to me that Some people are PO'd that the Cowboys didn't take their "Pet Cat", only the Best Players on their board.
I'm not PO'ed at all.

I'm no Jerry fan in general, but I agree. I think he played this right.

In a vacuum I take Mendenhall over JOnes no question, but its about what fits the teams needs best. And this kid didn't average more YPC in college than Reggie Bush by accident, and he brings more overall versatility.

We're still in a bind if Barber goes down, but there is no saying we are done drafting RBs either.

Team speed just got a boost. This will not be Bill Parcells's Cowboys.

I'm VERY pleased with the first round.

Felix will be what we all wanted Julius to be... i.e. a speed back with some real moves and run instincts and Jenkins will be awesome as our 3rd/4th corner.

I couldn't be happier.

I would have rather had Flowers.
I'm not too happy with the Jenkins pick. (character/slacker concerns)

Rashard is a bruiser back. We have one of those already. I want someone that can break it out wide.

Good job so far.

I would love to have 2 bruising backs.......imagine having that against NY in that playoff game......MB3 and Mend would destroy............but I guess we will see in time....

Per Mickey at Valley Ranch he was the #2 CB on the Cowboys board.

Did he happen to say who was #1 ? I'm guessing McKelvin.

What can I say? These are great picks! Jones is going to be good and I would think that maybe he might start and bring in MBIII like last year...perfect!

And Jenkins? Oh yeah, he can return kick offs also as well as being a CB...

What is not to like?

I think it was a damn nice first round for us. I didn't care for Jones at first, but I can see why they got him. And Jenkins? That's one sexy pick. I had to go take a cold shower after that one!

Jenkins is going to be sweet! Give that kid a year to learn and he's gonna be a really good corner...
