Well, Aikman constantly credits Norv for turning around his career. See his Hall Of Fame presentation.
Look, Troy was great. I'm the last person who would ever dispute that. Even in a team sport like football in which you rely SO heavily on the rest of your team in order to be personally successful, you're judged by your accomplishments. I get all that.
But I don't think he'd be in the Hall Of Fame today with 3 Super Bowl rings if he was drafted by a bottom-feeder like the Cardinals. And I doubt anyone here would disagree with this opinion.
Of course, I don't KNOW that he wouldn't have still found a way to have a tremendous career.
Just like I don't know what other QBs would have done if they were Cowboys.
Chris Chandler is a QB Hos brought up. Chandler spent the first 9 years of his career on poor teams (Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, Phoenix, LA Rams, Houston Oilers), before landing with Atlanta in 1997 and playing in the next 2 Pro Bowls. There's no telling what the guy could have done early on if he was drafted into a better situation instead of toiling from loser to loser in his first 9 years.
That's all I'm sayin'.
