I Like Fiammetta

How many of us saw the block at the time it happened? This isn't a case of the announcers refusing to comment, they probably just missed it.

i saw it and espn showed a replay and did comment

Pretty boneheaded call IMO and I am not a Garrett hater

Fiammetta did great. Would have liked to seen him in there on 1st and goal from the 2 instead of a draw out of shotgun, but what do I know.

I misspelled his name, didnt I?

Anyway, surprised no one has commented on the fact that the 3 plays that Felix sprung on where designed with our new FB as the lead blocker. And block he did - taking out 2 guys on the last long run.

He also showed some decent speed for a FB after a catch, although he dropped another.

Anyway, the report on him was that he could block and not catch. Well, he can certainly block, that's for sure.

I was expecting great things in our run game with him as FB.....especially after he gets a couple of games under his belt. Also, te TWO Commanders took themselves out after one of them thought that FIAMMATTA (sp) WAS the ball carrier. Huge surprise to them when Felix went flying by untouched.

Going back and watching that, No. 50 essentially took himself out by running at Fiammetta instead of into the hole Jones ran through. Not sure why he did that unless he thought Jones was going to cut inside of Fiammetta instead of outside. It almost looked like he thought Fiammetta had the ball.

I do think if 50 had filled the outside hole, Jones would have cut inside Fiammetta's block, but I don't think it would have resulted in as big of a run.

Yeah, that's the way it looked to me as well. Couldn't understand why No. 50 ran into Fiammetta, but I can't argue with the results! :laugh2:

Hilarious. I watched this over and over. Rob Jackson #50 was sure Fiammetta had the ball. Unless he was so off balance that he just fell into Fiammetta by mistake.

It sprung Felix for another 20 yards or so.

I thought at the moment it was Felix doing a nice job of setting up Fiammettas block with a inside shake which pulled the 2nd defender to the FB, and then Felix cut outside of the 3 man mash pile for the long gain

This is the best FB we've had in a long time. Yes, I said that after one game! He doesn't just make blocks, he strikes his target...hard. Ask Laron Landry about him. He's got some speed, athleticism and explosion. I'm predicting we resign him to a 2-3 year extension before the season is over.

Tirico was dying to keep repeating the narrative that the Cowboys didn't have any big running plays this year and notice when Fiammetta plays....we get big running plays.

That's a big enough reason for me to keep him on the team.

That and Felix made a tremendous cut.
