I like the direction of this team under Jason Garrett

Listening to the post-draft presser, I love the type of player JG says he wants on this team... guys who love football, work hard, high character in addition to having all the measurables. I think this is what we got in the 8 guys we just drafted. I'm sure we didn't hit on every pick (nobody does), but JG's philosophy will result in good players more often than not.

It will take Garrett a couple of years to weed out the Martellus Bennetts, Mike Jenkins and Dez Bryants but he will ultimately build the team he wants and take us to the promised land.:starspin

Good point, but for now, Garrett must make sure the funk from Bennett, Jenkins, and a few others doesn't rub off on his new players.

Note that Jimmy Johnson cut the players with no work ethic immediately. Garrett will do the same.

I hope so.

This would be a refreshing change - but very hard to do in the salary-cap era.

Very true, but I think those players will be weeded out over time.

What? These are not problem players, unless you buy into the tabloid media circus.

Bennett, was immature, maybe still is a little, but you seen the improvement last year. Have you heard anything this year?

Jenkins had a bad year, see what he can do under Ryan. Where has he been a problem. Have you heard anything this year?

Bryant, ok, he had a few bill paying problems, would you want to be fired because you chose not to pay a bill. And maybe he should have used that money to buy a belt, so he wouldn't have had a dropped pants issue.

Weed out 3 very talented players for nothing. I disagree.

You made sense until the last sentence. Then you lost your mind, and then I LOL'd.

I thought the draft was a offensive heavy. According to the stats, the offense wasn’t the issue last season. I thought we drafted too many backups too early in the draft. Garrett has a lot more to prove to me.

Yeah, I'm really pysched to see how this goes. I love Garretts business approach.

I was certainly not a Phillips hater, but just on the surface (we'll learn about the coaching later) I'd say Garrett is a big organizational upgrade.

Garrett's presence demands so much more respect that Wade's awe-shucks demeaner.
I know that's superficial stuff to some degree, but there is substance underneath to back it up...imo.

Also very importantly, we seem to have a plan that may even be consistent going forward. I didn't gravel over Parcells like some here, but He did have some of these great qualities.

As for the draft. I have mixed emotions on it, but like it overall. Like everyone, I may have done a few things differently.

StarMan, I agree with everything you said about Garrett and his ability to build a winning team. Do not agree with your assessment regarding Dez. Bennett? Maybe a little.

Garrett is putting his stamp on this team and it started with this draft. I know Trent Dilfer liked our draft. I bet the guys we drafted under Garrett end up making a bigger impact and contribute more than previous Wade drafts.

I love the Tyron Smith and DeMarco Murry picks.

Part in bold - I hope so. Like any other draft, the jury is still out. We didn't draft the big name players so a lot of fans are disappointed. If these guys pan out, everyone will be a lot more confident about what Garrett knows and what he will achieve.
