I actually do like this draft.
It is not a spectacular draft for us. It is not earth-shaking.
But I think this draft crops was garbage to being with. And I'm glad we gave up our #1 for Roy Willaims.
Of course, not having a #1 limited our ability to get a big name. And unfortunately guys who we liked were gone before we got to our first pick.
But starting from those that set of circumstances, I like what we did. Sure I could nitpick it some, but we got things that were areas of need.
4th CB? Check. Mickens and Smith. Hopefully Ball is now gone. I like a CB corps of Newmans, Jenkins, Scandrick, Mickens and Smith.
Safety? Check. Hamlin and Sensabaugh project to our starters, and we got nice backups with Hamlin as a FS and Hodge as a SS (who adds a lot for special teams.
LB depth? Check. We increased our team speed at LB with Jason Williams and Butler (who also both will contribute immensely on special teams).
DE depth? Check. Brandon Williams will rotate in and be a good pass rusher.
4/5th WR? Check. I think Manuel Johnson can contribute and eventally move up.
3rd TE? Check.
3rd QB? Check.
Special teams help? Check. Got KO specialist, and three special teams demons (Hodge, Williams, and Butler).
The only questions I see on this team is backup NT, and whether we want to bring someone in to push Austin for the 2nd WR position.
Other than that, this is a damn full roster.
