Not explicitly, no. But in the context of this thread, they only made one pick that even tries to address the problems against the Rams last year (Hill).

Bigger picture, I hate drafting so many guys who are almost certainly not going to contribute this year. They drafted 3 offensive players, and, as it stands right now, two could be inactive every week.

I still feel this was a draft for the 2020 season and Hill was a reach at 58. But whatever it's over with.

A 2019 draft *should* be primarily about 2020 and beyond. As it turns out, we took a guy we needed this year in Hill. We needed another quality 3tech for the DT rotation, and we got one.

McGovern wasn't a need this year, but he is certainly an opportunity. We can move on from Collins this year, avoid his 10mil salary, and get some trade value out of him. And field out our starting oline for the next 3 years. That's a big deal.

Free agency is there to fill immediate holes. Draft is there to get the better talent that can make an impact. You don't draft guys to fill holes for the following year.

agree. just like he Rams 2 and 3 round picks..who were a RB to back up Gurley, a tackle to back up Whitworth and a CB to back up Talib. all teams draft for the future. dallas did well with McGovern.
