Sanders should be ripping rivers apart, but instead he's giving him a pass.
tyke1doe;4258420 said:I don't think that's what he said. I understood him to say the reason why Phillips isn't getting criticized as heavily is that he's in a small market unlike NY or Dallas.
And that's true.

Martice;4259141 said:Deion is supposed to be a "football" analyst and not a "market" analyst. He is supposed to see past that part of it. Secondly, market or not, Philip Rivers was a first round draft pick from a major college. The expectations should be through the roof for Rivers but instead he puts those expectations on a undrafted QB from a small school who is quarterbacking for one of the highest profile teams in all of sports.
RCowboyFan;4258365 said:First big mistake is that you love Deion, second, take anything he says seriously as an analyst. As a clown/entertainer, he is pretty entertaining at times. But as serious analyst, he has zero credibility or insight, other than maybe DB analysis.
tyke1doe;4258609 said:I know what Deion has said about Romo. I'm speaking about the comments I heard him say tonight. So you're really not in a position to judge how Deion makes sense to me since you didn't hear him and don't have complete and critical information from which to criticize my interpretation.
Regardless how he feels about Romo, I interpreted him to say that Rivers isn't getting criticized like Romo because he's not in a market like Dallas. He didn't say Rivers isn't getting criticized because he didn't choke early in his career like Romo.
So I didn't judge his comments to be aimed at Romo. He was just making a comparison. And I agree with that. Romo gets criticized because the Dallas Cowboys quarterback position is judged like no other position. That's just fact.
You can hate himn all you want. And I don't particularly like his analysis of football games. But the way I interpreted his statement, he is correct.

Look at it any way you want it, Deion has a boner for the Cowboys and his answer only magnifies this point.
RCowboyFan;4259329 said:You are not in a position to judge why Cowboys fans take issue with his comments either. Goes both ways. Seems like you are all up to defend the detractors but surprised when they go back at detractors.

Any analyst can be fair in their judgement. If you follow the OP posts, you would have understood why he said that on what context he was questioning Deion's comments. He said specifically Romo is not a QB that will take Cowboys to SB. Understand that!! Or doesn't it fit your definition unfair critisism since its against Romo?
I don't hate Deion, the analyst. He is a joke, I don't care for his analysis, but like I said he is good for good comic relief or two, so I guess in that sense, I enjoy some of his antics.
Now, if you want to go about defending the class clown or like him, then so be it. But don't ask us to pretend that he is a serious analyst or fair analyst.Again if you want to do so, do so. Don't act like those who don't buy his nonsense as someone who are clueless.
SDCowboy85;4259384 said:Deion is a grudge holding hater. If you do something that makes him not like you, he'll never like you again. Look at the whole Dez thing. The guy is a teenaged girl in a middle aged man's body.

We may be Cowboys fans, but we don't have to think alike. I have my opinion, you have yours. Of course, mine are more well-thoughout out, aren't reactionary and tend to address subjects in their context.![]()

cowboyuptx;4259840 said:Right, but that doesn't explain why people also love to praise Rivers more than Romo too...
Throughout Romo and Rivers' careers anytime there's a (stupid) article on QB rankings, it was always a safe bet that you would find Rivers ranked numerous slots ahead of Romo... Yet when Rivers struggles, the media will look to blame it on Norv or whatever, but when Tony is struggling it's just because he's a big choker who cant win big games...
Seriously, Romo is the most unfairly scrutinized player in the NFL today, the only player close to him is Eli Manning...
