I love La’el Collins

I love that guy....

that's it ? .. ESPN: ... " C'mon Man !! "

Lael has been a revelation.
People here can say good things now, -and they won't admit it now but they were totally different about him when he had his struggles the last 2 years.

and that's ironic in itself, because he was impressive in 2017, when he faired well vs the likes of Ryan Kerrigan and Khali Mack, despite playing with a bulging disc in his back.
which is another thing about Collins, as he's a tough, gut it out battler. He still plays hurt. And it's a credit to him as he never gave up trying to get better.

Once the Cowboys drafted OG/C Conner McGovern in the 3rd rd. It was widely speculated that the Cowboys are making that future move to relocate the other Conner (Williams)
that they drafted in 2nd round a year ago, to the RT spot and that the club will allow Collins to walk in FA market after this season.

And the Cowboys team itself in turn surprise many in re-signing Collins to a long term contract. And looking at Lael performance and return investment, he has turned in a very solid
year - we don't see near the lapses in protection, sacks and penalties that we saw a year ago.

and it certainly did note help matters that the Cowboys brought in Paul Alexander and his high-low techniques and scheme, which seem to confuse and frustrate the unit as a whole
and especially Lael.
and I have to think that is was loud resentment about Alexander among the unit that led to his mid-season firing. and with asst OLcoach Marc Columbo taking over as interim OL coach,
it was a return to a more comfortable and conventional OL technique and scheme, far more suitable to the players.

And that was a head start back for Lael, who is a very talented player who is athletic and plays with a battler temperament.

Here are the NFC OT's:
David Bakhtiari*, Green Bay Packers
Tyron Smith*, Dallas Cowboys
Terron Armstead, New Orleans Saints

I know he has had a good season but it's hard to crack the top 3.

After injuries, pro bowl no shows and the super bowl Collins might be still get in.
Hopefully he doesn’t. Hopefully all our guys need pro bowl replacements as they prep for their week in South Florida

I saw him talking smack to the Rams Dline! Got me pumped up so I ran to the fridge and shot gunned a beer!
..I did the same but instead got a Bear Claw and Oatmilk... ;)...

Zack Martin is literally the third highest rated interior lineman in the entire NFL and is a lock for the All-Pro team..... (Lol at "Collins is the only one I picked for pro bowl")
Not trying to poop on Zack but i have a hard time respecting any rating that has him as the third highest rated interior lineman. The eye test for most of the year has been that he is not the dominant force he once was. He is still very good & sound enough technically to get by with it but it has been clear that his health issues have taken something away from his game. I'm not sure how anyone would argue that Lael hasn't been the most consistent lineman.

the problem isif Martin isn't playing at his 2014 or 2016 level than fans somehow think he's an average NFL starter

the problem is that's not how it works. Zack Martin playing at 85% is still a top 5 guard in the entire NFL

That's the problem with people like Martin and Smith, their biggest critic is themselves

People see Zack at 85% and say oh no he's not a high-level player anymore (on the basis of his peak ) when in reality pressures allowed, sacks allowed, run blocking, and pass blocking he's literally in the top five in almost all of those categories.....

I always laugh when players, coaches, and statistics show that these people are still high-level starters in the NFL and fans will come in and be like oh well the eye test the eye test !!

I said he is still quite good but your initial post said only two rated better. There are some lines playing pretty darn well which makes it pretty conceivable that out of the 63 other guards playing each week that there are more than 2 who are playing better. While you are laughing, you understand that the "grading" is subjective, right? Just because he doesn't get graded with a pressure doesn't mean he wasn't getting beat on the play. Last year they had some stupid year end grade that Tyron hadn't given up a sack all year or something of the sort. Yeah, those plays he didn't get out of his stance couldn't of been his guy who caused the sack. They have a product to sell, doesn't mean i have to buy it.

The only 2 interior lineman that I would say are clearly playing better than Martin are Quinten Nelson and Brandon Brooks.

That's what makes hall of fame players hall of fame players. Even hurt or even in down years they can still outperform 90% of starters (there's a reason why Martin was drafted 4 years into this decade and will still EASILY make 1st team all-decade in January).

That wasn't a stupid stastic at all.

His pass defense and run blocking where BETTER in 2018 than in 2017 yet according to the cowboys zone forum members "Tyon was detoriating that season and living on his repuation":rolleyes::rolleyes:

Dude, that’s awesome! I missed that as I was playing Mr. Mom to 2 kids, with one battling the flu. I watched just about every snap, but missed that detail.

I love it. So glad we have La’El Collins.

Can you give deets on what actually happened when you saw it?

PFF grades the dude as the 3rd ranked tackle in the entire league..............It is absurd that he's probably going to make the AP All-Pro team but not the pro bowl. Just goes to show that the pro bowl is mostly a popularity contest.

Not it shows that they favor the more important position which is left side (LT).

There's usually only maximum 1 right tackle selected. The past 2 years it's been Lane Johnson but he's not even healthy and was carted off the field 2 weeks ago.......
