I hope that they learned from using Bosworth (I think) as a FB that keeping one around is a good idea. I like Copeland, and whether he's the guy who sticks or no, every team can make room for a hammer like that.

I actually think Copeland is probably athletic enough to line up as a TE and block, which should make him more flexible than just a lead blocker.

The kid is a beast, and seems like a great kid. Was very instrumental in lsu's run game.

I feel about this guy the same way I felt about Vickers. If he can't block in space on the second level, I think he's a downgrade over what we had with Fiametta. Clutts was completely unspectacular in almost every regard, but Murray likes to run behind those guys why can take out LBs for him. I have to admit, I'm going mostly off of just body type here, though. I haven't seen more than a highlight reel on Copeland, but I'm going to hold my water on the guy until I can see him play in a game.

Fiametta perplexes me. He wasn't overly physical, just had a knack for the right angle to lock out defenders. Really rejuvinated our running game that season too. I also would like to incorporate more true FBs into the gameplan seeing as we don't throw to the 2nd TE when they are out there anyway. What mismatch?

These guys tend to be pretty limited in today's NFL. He needs to excel in special teams obviously to have a shot at making the team. I prefer the more versatile players.
He does pack a punch. Reason #1005 why I would never play this game. Can't imagine having this guy come at you on a running play.

Fiammetta was really good at getting quickly to his blocks in space. It seems to me that Murray really appreciated being able to read off of him and not have to overthink that cut once he got through the LoS. Vickers was slower at it, and not always able to get where he had to get. Clutts seemed like a weird signing at the time, because he wasn't a hammer and he wasn't particularly gifted athletically, but he was decent at getting to those blocks on the move, and Murray responded again.

I hope Copeland can do it well. He very well might, I just don't know. I look at him and think he's a hammer with legs, but that might not be fair to him.

He's pretty agile for a big guy. I don't know why LSU didn't give him more opportunities with the ball. From the videos I have seen, once he locks in on a target, he gets there in a hurry.

good for us to try and find another FB, azs its a dying breed, but what I have read about him is that despite his size, he looks to hit people out of the way, trying to decleat them everytime, instead of engaging them, which is the technique they need to use in the NFL, given the LBs are too athletic and big to try to meet them head on.

how's his receiving skills? a FB should be useful enough to catch a little as well.

hope it works out, but not sure if it will. his ticket is to show a little blocking and play lights out on special teams, as we probably continue to run a lot of two TE sets.

He's a UFA sign. If he doesn't work out, then we are no worse off then we were before. I liked Millard more but I like this kid an awful lot as well. Lets see what happens.

I just love his nastiness and energy. Sometimes, that's worth more than any blocking or rushing yards a fullback can give you.

Dude is a flat out monster, he erases LB's. We need to pound the rock this year hard. This guy will be a game changer.

I don't want to discount the fact that even undrafted free agents can make it in the NFL, but I have a hard time buying the idea of a guy no team felt worthy of a draft pick as a "monster" and a "game changer". I'll be the first to put a big smile on my face if this turns out to be the case though.
