I love the Cowboys but I can't stand to watch them

Do the rest of you get sucked in thinking they will win knowing down deep they likely won't? It never ceases to amaze me how disappointed I get.

Every weekend, brother.

Every weekend.

Like a line in a movie I saw where a guy got beat up and went back to his friends-

"Suh - Sucker punched me. He sucker punched me!"

His friend-

"Yeah, over and over again..."

i really wish i could do this too. i'm 24 yrs old and just so incredibly fed up with this franchise, i cannot even put into words the amount of anger i have after that detroit game. this franchise has done nothing for me yet i keep coming back. cowboys are in my blood. growing up in dallas, i was raised from a toddler to love this team which is why it is difficult to disconnect. it has been nothing but a curse, nothing but disappointment, nothing but embarrassment after embarrassment after embarrassment. just sickening...i wish i could disconnect. :(

You don't have to totally disconnect. Hey, I'm still posting here. I simply will no longer let the current group making up the Dallas Cowboy franchise take my time and money away from my family. I am no longer glued to the TV for 3.5 hours every Sunday or hanging on every tidbit of Cowboys news. I am still a fan but I am not nearly as engaged as I have been for the past 25 years. If I have a few minutes to kill, I might pop in here and post if something catches my eye. I used to check Cowboys message boards 10-15 times a day year round. Not anymore and I am a happier person for it. If they are on TV here in Virginia and I have nothing better to do, sure I will watch the game a cheer for them to win. They just no longer get my money or my undivided attention. I have no doubt that one day I will return to my old ways but that day will not come until I perceive that the franchise as a whole is not a waste of time and money. Some may say that's being a fair-weathered fan to which I respond, I have been there every second of every game since 1987, I have arranged weekends, holidays, and vacations around Cowboys games, I have spent countless dollars on Cowboys related items and trips, I have missed important family and friends events in order to watch the game, I have disappointed my wife and son because the game was on and I just cannot do these things anymore for this collection of what I view as gutless, heartless, underachieving players and coaches.

The Cowboys are epic black comedy. They are a trainwreck that I can not turn away from. Just when you think you have seen every way possible to lose a football game, we have ivy league ice his kicker, call a 1 yard pass to set up a 50+ yard field goal IN TO THE WIND, or lose a game with a 99% win probability. Just start laughing at it, it is much better for you.

lol.. we sound a lot alike. I no longer get emotionally attached when watching the games. I've already seen every type of meltdown and way to lose a football game there is over the years watching the Cowboys. You will notice the announcers make a comment like.. a team has only won 1 out of 54 games after having a -4 turn over ratio... (in the 4th quarter) and they are pointing to the fact the Cowboys got this game in the bag..(Last week vs. the Lions) but as a long time fan.... you just know what is about to happen.
