That funny, I just came across these guys yesterday on Drudge. The kid is the 2nd coming of Plant, that is a voice that u do not come across too often at all. I will have to ck them out further.

I've listened to all 4 posted songs, black smoke rising is the one I think is the least zeppelin like, I can't recall exactly who they were channeling on that one, it kept dancing on the peripheral edges of my mind but I couldn't pull it in,,,these are high school kids?WOW!
I hate going there, but which of the four o.d.'s first? Drummer or lead singer?

It's interesting as I think it is the least like LZ as well and I wonder if it is the most like what they sound like when not channeling LZ.

Also interesting that it is the only song that the title matches the song... The other three just sounds like titles of songs that may not be thier faves. Also Black Smoke Rising is the name of the CD.

I am wondering if they just knew they could pull off a great LZ to get noticed and people liking them... In order to start playing more of what they want to play as themselves.

Either way it is Good stuff.

Geddy Lee and Rush's very early stuff immediately came to mind.

Could be? ,,,Cuz' I don't know, but I keep circling back to some 70's or 80's
Band:huh:,, not the scorpions or whoever done the "rock me" song, but there's a band out there I liked and listened to that's cut that same sound before,,,I'm thinking it wasn't a really chart topper of a group either,,,

...lol...great sounds....I listened...I watched a view vids off of YouTube....and you guys are right about the sound.
Overall I'm very impressed by the talent level of these young men...I like their style and sound...I'm hearing a little Led Zep,
a touch of the Scorpions/Steppenwolf...and some Guns-and-Roses....probably a lot more also!....IMMHO of course

Gave them a quick listen and they could easily pass for Zeppelin outtakes/throwaways circa 69-71 or so, also as someone mention earlier maybe similar to the first album Rush did. Other than that the drummer doesn't sound anything like Bonham did as far as touch and power goes. Singer has a great voice, probably the best thing about the band, guitars are average as is bass. Still better than anything I've heard from Nickleback/Poo Fighters/U2/etc.

The song Highway that kid really sounds like Plant to me, would be great to have a voice like that...I would be raking in the cash! That band is made up of 3 brothers btw...

Kinda reminds me of this, recorded in 1969 and released in 1997.

Minus Bonzos awesome drumming of course.

You know, I also heard a little bit of the Black Crowes. If you ever get the opportunity to listen to Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes Live at the Greek, you'll hear something a little similar. I was surprised at how much the singer for the Black Crowes pulled off a close Robert Plant.
