I may have to leave the Zone for a Bit

I'm finding it hard to put it in perspective.
As I'm writing this I'm watching ESPN and their talking to Woodson about the game.

I even regularly check the Gints forum to see about their injuries and whats going on over there.
Thats all I listen to on the radio is sports talk shows talking about the NFL and The Boys.

Thats all I've been doing the last few weeks is thinking about the Dallas Cowboys.
First we have to beat Wash. and we don't ,then OOOOh if we can only beat Indy.
Then Jeeez I hope we win on Thanksgiving so I can enjoy the weekend.

I mean it's starting to affect my work and home life.:banghead:

On game day I'm so stressed that I won't talk to anyone except you guys on the forum.

It's the holiday season ,my daughters going to have a baby in Feb. so were going thru baby showers and holiday stuff, and I just keep thinking and getting nervous over these Damn Cowboys.

When they win I can feel a weight off my shoulders and I'm good for a few days until the next game when they lose I just want to stay in my computer room and talk to you guys .

So I feel if I get off the zone for awhile and not listen to all the hype I just may be able to get my life back together.

If they win this week all I've said previously will be forgotten , but if they lose , Not sure I can make it thru the week no to mention the season.

So I'm signing off for awhile just to get back to reality and to whats important.

I know this rant may sound dumb to most of you but I just had to get it off my chest.
:(

Suck it up!!! Go Cowboys!!!

From the 50,000-watt tower of truth, the Dr. Pokes Medical Corner:

My friend, drink heavily. Avoid the TV. Come here frequently for the Great Sunday Game support group. Eat healthfully. Avoid women (well, the ugly ones). Load up on magnesium supplements to make your dreams more vivid (no! not those kinds of dreams! Cowboy games dreams, you dork!). If you are over 49, drink Geritol with a chaser. Repeat every two hours.

Wait. Just go with the first tip. Drink heavily. You will awaken mid-afternoon Sunday (wearing our Tony Romo PJs) in time for the kickoff.

We can't hold your hand, dude. We got enough Cowboy anticipation in our heads. You are on your own. Eat, drink and be happy. Sunday will be here before you know it and drinks are on me Sunday night.

I'm all for it. I went through almost the exact same thing. Now I'm easing back in, trying to find the moderation. This is my first post in weeks. I've been reading through threads and all but trying to keep the obsession levels low. And I've been more productive as well.

Good luck! You're making the right decision -- family and sports can coincide quite peacefully bet when sports is pushing the other out, you gotta make a change.

I have never been one to let this stuff affect me in anyway!!!!!

My first 5 wives left me because of my passion for the Cowboys.

My second 5 married me for my money, goodlooks & charm......SOOOO,I left them because I found out they were skins, eagles, & Giant fans. :)

I'm so lucky, My wife at present wife let's me be me. Plus I made her sign a pre-nup agreement that during football season......90% of my time would be Cowboy time. :)

Seriously this stuff can be very addictive if you let it esp. during a season such as this.

Family must come first and only you can determine what is best for you and yours.

Good grief,,, of all times to bail out!!! It's been nothing but foreplay up until this point, and now things are going to get VERY VERY interesting. I can understand if the intensity is getting to you,,, from now on it's going to be a steady climb up the intensity ladder until the SuperBowl baby!

BRO, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND and relate. I am the same way, I hate how much time and effort I put into following the team and rooting for the team. I hate the emotional roller coaster I get on depending on winning or losing. Winning is nothing but relief, losing is catastrophic.
My fiance thought I was cheating on her because I'm on here so much.
If we win the SB, I may need counseling.

Balance my friend...its all about balance. I juggle a demanding job, my wife juggles a demanding job, and we go home to our 2 year old boy/girl twins.

My family comes first, my job second, and the Cowboys third. I make time for the Cowboys, but usually late at night when my other obligations are met. I live off of about 5 hours of sleep. 8 hours is for wusses.

Good luck to you my friend.
