But I smell the end of uninspired efforts by the 'Boys this season.
I think the NY game, and the ensuing 1st half of the Carolina game were the final pieces of the emotional puzzle needed for the Cowboys to move forward to becomning the team that they can be.
I saw a Defense on Sunday that played very well out of the lockerroom in the 3rd Qtr on Defense and then made the game winning play instead of folding in the final minutes. I saw a team take it upon THEMSELVES (finally) to win a football game it needed to win against a desperate opponent.
I saw a QB lead a team and play with great confidence and judgement.
I by no means think we will go unbeaten the rest of the season and I'm still not sure on this point, BUT I saw a Head Coach quietly dress down his Off Coordinator for two terrible playcalls on the goalline and with good reason. The same head coach punted the football when it was the better choice to punt the football for once. Basically I saw an excellent Defensive Coordinator POSSIBLY become a good Head Coach as well.
I saw an excellent special teams unit that had the Panthers frustrated with their ineffectiveness.
I saw some key veterans play inspired football, and some youthful players take advantage of opportunities when they arose. I saw a running game that is three deep, and completely three dimensional bolstered by a nasty, hungry offensive line.
I think that Wade might now have the respect in the lockerroom to get his message to the players. He has not panicked in the face of adversity, and I don't think that his team will either going forward.
I smell something cooking in Dallas... and it might take some time to come to boil... but it might be pretty tasty when all is said and done. The end of uninspired play. With the talent on this club... how neat would that be?
That is all.
