I can't believe I am even saying that, but the guy gets open and is catching balls at about 20 yds a clip. W/ the timing of Roy Williams and Romo getting better from week to week and Bennett in the mix, plus Witten getting his health back, we may really have something going on around here that will be hard to stop.

TO
R. Williams
Barber out of the backfield
Witten
Bennett
Crayton
Austin

The only defense I think is to apply relentless pressure on Romo in the hope that he doesn't have time to use his weapons. We will see our first real test against the Steelers. I actually thing these last few games will make us stronger in the playoffs because we have some big time attacking defenses to play.
Still, guys like Austin could be the difference between a win and loss. How the heck can you put anyone on him with all our other weapons roaming around? I was and am a big fan of Crayton, but this Austin can just plain demoralize a defense.

Ya know, I was watching a Romo interview after the Seahawk game and he said something like we were playing well but still missing important pieces. Felix is one, but I think he was talking Austin too... I think Romo thinks pretty highly of Austin... dude got skills.

Absolutely. He and Austin are also kindred spirits.

Austin has a knack for finding open areas and flashing to Romo when covered. I think this ability and his speed make him extremely dangerous.

Are we getting him back for the Pittsburgh game?

Good question. They said after the Skins game he would be out two weeks or two games, right? Well both two weeks and two games has passed. So I assume he will be back for Pittsburgh.

Man, talk about being loaded at the receiver position.....Owens, Williams, Witten, Crayton, Bennet, Austin. And this is great, but come playoff time we will definitely need to have a respectable running game. Here's to willing that Barber and Choice stay nick free. (Oh, Romo should be healthy or all the toys stay in the box.)

The bigger key for the running game is the OL gelling with Holland in there. It was very difficult to run consistently with Proctor in there because he was manhandled so often. Hopefully these guys get in synch so we can start mashing some people as the weather turns bad.

That's all well and good. But it looks like we may have to go the wild card route.

So what teams are we looking at?

Arizona - it's warm there so our passing game shouldn't suffer.
Tampa - ditto.
Atlanta - dome, ditto.
Carolina - possibly cold and Carolina is a running team which means we had better be able to run the ball if it's cold.
Chicago - very cold.
NY Giants - blustery and cold.
Green Bay (if the Packers win the division) - very cold.

The passing game doesn't always click in the cold weather, which means we may have to rely on the running game.

While I'm happy we have a strong passing attack, I wonder how that will impact us in the long run, if we have to play in a cold environment.

If we can develop alot of strong short intermediate passes and good blocks on screens, it would help us alot. We'll still have major problems if we cant run the ball, but it would make running the ball even easier if well executed.

I miss Sam Hurd...

Sam Hurd would be another great weapon for Romo this season. To me it seems that he is really trying to improve his game. Hopefully he showed the coaches enough on and off the field as well as in the locker room to keep this guy around in the following years.

T.O. really took a liking to him and I think that Sam Hurd is deffinately worthy of a roster spot come next season when he is healthy.
