I think there will be times Jenkins is on Jackson I also think Dallas will see to it that we have a safety over the top much of the time much as we did in the 1st game. Dallas can't afford to give Philly the easy TD off the big play if we make them work for every yard Philly tends to get impatient and that is when they make mistakes.

I have watched the analyst talk about D Jackson's big plays and on most of them the Cb releases DJ crossing the field to the deep safety who just cannot catch up with him.

You just can't let him make the big play, period!

I made the comment last week that I thought Jenkins was a shutdown CB. Some disagreed with me but I don't know how you can disagree with that. He shuts down his side of the field. I mean sure, a pass gets completed every now and then, but I could ask no more of him than what he has done!

I remember seeing that. Shut down corner may not be the right term but no doubt Jenkins makes plays and does not give up a lot of passes thrown in his direction. People can use whatever label they choose all I know is the guy is one heck of a CB and his play allows us to be more aggressive in attacking the QB.

I'm not talking zone, I'm saying play him physical with bump and run but provide the CB with some help over the top. If you slow Jackson down at the line it allows the front more time to get to McNabb

I can see us playing much like the NO game and putting newman on jackson with safety help while leaving jenkins on an island with maclin.

I agree that is the way to play him and I think that is probably what we have done since he did not have those big plays against us in the first game. I think the mistake is trying to pass him off from one guy to another on the zone.

His development this season is incredible.

After that lame attempt last year to make the tackle against the Giants, who would have believed he would take the step he has taken this year?

He and Spencer have really pushed us to a higher level of performance on defense.

True, I will say I think defense is always better off when you are giving the QB different looks be it with showing blitz and back out or coming with it and playing man coverage bump and run at time other times backing off or playing man and zone coverages. A good QB will figure you out quickly if you don't change up your looks and coverages.

Difference between Newman and Jenkins?

I noticed alot during the Washington game that Jenkins plays right in front of his guy. He bumped his guy alot to throw off his route.

Newman plays 8-10 yards off which allowed the quick throw to Moss and then he only had to side step Newmans tackle attempt.

I still think Newman is a good CB, but Jenkins is clearly playing lights out this season.
You do realize that's based on the coverage that's called, right?

I don't know if you can bump Jackson. All they have to do is get him off the line where you can't get up on him, and he's so quick it's hard to get your hands on him.

And yeah, the corner up or back is usually up to the coaches. Like Wade has said 100 times, Jenkins is a really good bump corner because he's strong and has very long arms. Newman can do that, but I think Wade wants him off more.
