The Cowboys will be in the Jones family for some time.

I really respected the Vikings and Rams of the 70's and 80's when we were going head to head with them all the time.

If you think about it there were only 4 teams in the NFC in the 1970s that were good all the time: Cowboys, Rams, Vikings, Commanders. They represented the NFC in every SB of the decade. In fact of the 20 teams who played in the 10 NFC Conference Championship games in the 70s, these 4 teams were in it 17 times. The 49ERs were in the first two, losing to us! and the Bucs lost in 79 to the Rams.

There were a couple of other teams who made the playoffs: The 49ERs in 70-72, the Cards in 74 & 75, the Lions in 70, the Packers in 72, the Bears in 77 & 79, the Eagles in 78 & 79, the Falcons in 78, and the Bucs in 79.

Out of a possible 42 playoff spots, these 4 teams took 29 of them, that's 69%.

No wonder I loved football in the 70s so much!

That would be a smart idea IMO. I don't follow baseball much anymore. Do they have a domed stadium?

Here's a trivia tidbit for everyone. The Rams are the first professional team to have a logo on the side of their helmet. Back when they were in Cleveland the ram horns were the first.

I like the old Rams colors of blue and yellow much better than the darker blue and gold they sport now. I think the blue and yellow was a great combination. The new ones not so much.

The Rams changed when a host of teams went from lighter colors to darker colors - Rams, Eagles, Seahawks, Bills to name a few.

They should all change back IMO. I hate the darker colors but I guess the teams thought they looked more "edgy".
